I know that using WEU's additional tiles in a single tileset feature will not work properly on cliff tiles. But, what im wondering, is would it be possible to repace one cliff type with another? Let me explain my problem and idea: Im using the ashenvale tileset, which means the ashenvale cliffs. I want to have the ashenvale grass cliff, with the felwood dirt cliff, and every ground tile from both tilesets. (easy for tiles, used WEU) Now, i know cliff tiles seem to be funky... buuut, what im thinking, is switching fellwoods dirt texture with ashenvalue (importing both dirt tile textures and switching the names), but, is it also possible to do that with the cliffs themselves? (in other words, import the texture to the fellwood dirt cliffs, and rename it to that of the ashenvale dirt cliffs so it over-rides it, esentally turning ashenvale dirt cliffs into felwood dirt cliffs while still having ashenvales grass cliffs) or would that not work / act funky sometimes? would i need to import some other kind of file like a cliff model, or do the use the same one? |

I believe that would work, but I've never tried it. Try it and see what happens. ![]() |

I can confirm that it will not work. Which is ESPECIALLY stupid, because the cliff textures are in the "ReplaceableTextures" directory of war3.mpq. Guess i have some tecknical limitations to terrain around ;) Edit: And, that took me way too long to test... WE keeps crashing... |

To be honest, I'm not sure if I 100% understand Earth-Fury's request, but if it's just the textures, this tutorial has the information on correct pathing for replacing cliff textures. But I came here to see if there is any way to replace the cliff model, which is independent of whatever textures you assign to it. The same tutorial states that Warcraft default with a Straight cliff (Cliff0) and a Jagged cliff (Cliff1). I want to know if I can overwrite the path to Jagged cliff and use a straight cliff model. I have no clue where it'd be in the database... |

If you tried importing it to TerrainArt\TilesetName\... or some path of that sort, that's your problem. The paths to override the cliff textures are ReplaceableTextures\Cliff\Cliff0.blp and ReplaceableTextures\Cliff\Cliff1.blp I'm sure that it's possible. |
