Im using the latest patch and am not using WEU or grimoire or anything. simply vanilla world editor. And it seems, that on ocasion, when i view my desktop in the open/save as dialogs, world editor decides to stop existing. I dont mean it crashed. it literally just goes away without warning. It seems to happen most often when i have more then 1 map open, but while i was using grimoire (WE.bat) it happend wenever i tryed to open a secont map. Its not crashing, its not still in the CTRL-ALT-DEL prosses list. its almost as if its closing itself. |

Same sort of thing happens to me occassionally. When ever I have WE open, and I'm on another program and I switch back to WE while it's saving, *poof*, it's gone. It just vanishes. |

There's your problem :p I do run a ton of WE hacks and modifiers in addition to using 1.20 editor. I believe it probably is just a bug in the base coding of the editor, and the best fix would probably be to try reinstalling, or using an older version of the Editor. |

That's crashing in my book. It should actually generate an error log. |

I find that my WE crashes on occasion, when selecting files for import into the map. |

I find that my WE is still loyal to me. Why don't you try NOT opening a second map? Or whatever you do to make it crash? If you need to copy things, export the data or something then close the map, open your map and import the data. Problem solved, no? |

Same thing happens to me when I'm idle for a few seconds when importing something. The only advice I can give you is not doing that which causes the problem. :P |

actually, for a large part, it does solve the problem =P But, in a specific case, i need a secont map open... but i've found a temoporary solution: hit the save button before loading / save-asing any maps. its annoying as hell tho. anyone got solution for a perm-fix? ![]() |

Yea I get it too. I also get it with warcraft III viewer. Perhaps it an MPQ problem? |

i missed that post the first time.. If the log is supposed to be in the "errors" folder of my WC3 instalation directory, it isnt. its nowhere to be found, so im presumign one wasnt created. And, it displays no "this program has encounterd a fatal error blah blah blah you're boned" message. Edit: Bah, why not, may help: Win XP media center edition SP2 pre-installed by HP (==' and origionally full of crap) all the latest updates. Nvidia graphics card (onboard, built in, whatever beign part of the mother board is called) (latest drivers) AMD Athlon X2 64 bit prossesor 4200+ 1 gig ram And, its the oddest thing, the bottom firth of the world editor flashes black sometimes when my cursor is on the task bar. Never had this problem with my old computer... |

My editor has never failed me :D This may seem like a noob question (it is) but how do you have 2 maps open at once? If i try to open WE a second time it says world editor is already running. |

File > Open map Then you can switch between the two of them with: Window > Your map |
