Hi all, Ive been working on this project alone for quite some time, (Since about July last year). I feel its progressed quite well, but im at the point where I could use some external help. The map is called Bloody Pirates!, its a multiplayer ship combat game based in a replica map of the Caribbean. The scale is fairly large and there are about 132 ports you can visit as you play, most which are somewhat historically accurate. You can choose to play on one of six different nations. The game is not based on Pirates of the Caribbean, it is more of a historical game. The game is quite unique, it can be considered complex to learn due to the numerous systems involved. Here's some of the features: - Quick download, 12 player combat/rpg map that runs well on battlenet. - Large map with low lag due to managed unit control, streamlined camera triggers and minimal leaks. - Full sized replicas of walkable ships and ports are the battlegrounds for melee combat. - 132+ ports that contain items and ships. - Ports have random contents every game, no 2 games are ever alike. - Port contents are shown in floating text to allow quick analysis. - A complex trade system rewarding memorization of trade routes. - Camera view is locked to your ship or your hero at all times, to allow line of sight combat as well as keeping map events secret. The camera has a few settings to suit your preference. - AI ships randomly travel throughout the map, possibly attacking you with a variety of strategies in the process. - Dynamic alliance and war system making it possible for almost any scenario between any nation. - Strategic cannon combat, targeting is a combination of automatic and manual and varies according to your cannon power. - Level controlled "radar" system enhancing player vs player combat. - Hundreds of custom abilities, including specialized nation, hero and ship abilities. - Ships and heroes have Navigation, Boarding and Charisma instead of Strength, Agil, Int. - 10+ different ship types. - 30+ selectable heroes (captains of your ship). - 50+ trade items. - 1000+ custom objects! - 15000 lines of trigger code! Most of the features are implemented that I wanted in the game, its at the point now where the game needs some heavy testing and the few hard-to-find crash/leak bugs need to be ironed out. The current version is .692, available at http://bloodypirates.h1x.com If you are interested in helping in some way email me at [email protected] or post on one of the forums. I could use some help with debug testing and/or art/model submissions. I don't really need help with triggers and other editor content, unless perhaps you have JASS or other complex code you wish to contribute. Although I have not been a regular visitor of war3campaigns, I would like to thank war3campaigns for providing great map development information! Thrax- |
