Making an Orb Item Spell Into a Hero Ability

I am trying to turn the Fire Orb Item ability into a hero spell. It all works until it comes to displaying the ability icon in the hero's skill bar. It shows up fine in the learn hero skill menu, but unfortunately will not appear after it has been learned, but the effects are still there. Anyone know what could be going on?

And yes, I do have each skill for this hero set to a different spot in the ability grid.

Maybe create an dummy spell which is the icon then create an spellbook add yr Orb ability then trigger it so when you learn it it adds the spellbook and disables it(it will still work) then trigger so it increases each level

Just give the hero a dummy spell that has all the tooltip and stuff

You don't really need the spellbook and stuff...just do what Joker said. Easy as pie.

If I do that though, where does the spell affect come from?

Anyways, I was able to find a workaround using the Command Aura ability.

I encountered a similar item ability--> hero ability conversion. As far as I know the item abilities are there, but just don't show up as tooltips or anything. To check this, Do what Joker says and make a trigger to cast the converted item spell when the dummy spell is cast.

All the item abilities that must be activated have icons. None of the item abilities that are passive have icons unless they have unit or hero abilities counterparts, except for a couple of the orb abilities. An example is Orb of Slow, which shows the DIS icon of whatever spell it casts for some reason (which is inconvenient because the DIS button then shows up as a "missing" bright green square when it actually is Disabled, since there's no DISDIS icon).
