I've seen so much projects made by very good triggers/jassscript writers and good modellers, which and up failing, but then I would also see some B.Net nub gather fellow nubs who would end up finishing there projects, and why do the first ones always fail and the latter always get to release? |

Because they don't abandon their work? maybe? dunno? Also, what's wrong about noobs making their maps? They aren't bothering you are they? If not don't do things like this to them. Just because they are noobs doesn't mean they are not alowed to make maps. No Insult intended man just saying that It's mean to be like that. |

No not at all, I'm a nub and I finished a map, but I see good projects here with people better than me and end up with nothing. |

Because of dedication, real life, and WoW -Av3n |

well I suppose WOW maybe the cause of it, when WOW was just released I saw about 15 members being inactive, and after a while some of the best started vanishing. Cursed WOW, destroyed WC3 |

They fail because people underestimate the amount of work required to take their plans all the way to completion. They slack and give up features because they don't want to feel like it's going to take a year to finish. Then at some point they realize the project isn't turning out the way they wanted to (because of everything they gave up) and feel it's no longer worthwhile at all. Personally I've been working on a map for over a year, but every time I made any progress I soon felt like starting over because my ideas and coding skills changed and it was easier to start again from scratch. |

Yes I suppose they do underestimate it, And I suppose why people like me finish maps often is we try to make it simple, as most of us don't know how to make models. The Good ones are always the complicated ones. But I still think that WOW killed WC3! |

Lol guys, sure wow destroyed wc3, but wow OWNS! I dont have it, but playing at friends is enough. IT OWNS!!!!!!!! (But W3 is nearly as good) |

well I don't get whats exciting with MMORPG's, you'll never see the end of the game, your just there leveling up, getting rich, and thats everything there is in an MMORPG. |

Easy explanation: Good projects need a lot more time than bad projects. And Skilled people will eventually get busy with more serious stuff therefore have to quit. |

This is a strange community, compared to other games this is so easy to mod, but it has less finished project than more younger and complex games. Time? In some cases yes, but most veterans over the years have attempted 3-8 big projects, so... As far as I see it, it's just that too many people do not know the word reliable. |

I'd like to mention there are good projects out there that were finished. |

If you're referring to B&B about projects "failing", they've been doing this for what? 3 years now? It's tradition for them. Besides, B&B is still fully playable and a damned good map. It just needs updates that won't happen. It's biggest problem was conflict of ideas. Three people each thinking completely differently causes problems for a map's development. |

I don't mod WC3 to make maps. I do it for the journey. I couldn't care much for the end product. Finalising is boring. |

I make maps for the end result. The process to get to the end result isn't why I'm here, it's seeing people enjoy the final product. At least that's how I feel. |
