Hey folks. I've been working on a RPG scenario for over 2 months now (im almost 50 hours into it) and I need some advice before I continue my development of the actual gameplay( I just recently finished the xp system and worked out most of the balancing issues). My scenario will allow 4 players, who choose different critter heros to "evolve", through a combination of quests and fighting. I am attempting to make a very unique RPG, not your standard fare. There will be plenty of humor. However, I feel like my scenario falls short in the sound department. I need someone to test the map for me for bugs and I need suggestions for sound and music. As of yet, I have done NO multiplay testing. I simply don't have anyone around here to help me test it, and I cannot access battlenet at home. Also, since this is my first Warcraft III map, any advice for optizimation or gameplay would be greatly appreciated. Please email me at [email protected] or contact me on AIM (anothergreatguru). Thanks a lot. |

Guest | I will be willing to test it and give you good feedback. Can you attach it so I may download the map? |

Sure, I will post the file tomorrow. I have some things to clean up before I am ready to test it in multiplayer, and I have to work the quirks out a quest. |

Guest | Okay, I'm probably not the one you want for testing, but I do want to say a couple things. Congrats on not going with standard fare. Even if it ends up being unpopular I'll have more respect for you than for many map editors out there. And the fact that you're tackling such a project as your first war3 map is quite encouraging to me (I'm trying something of a comprable scope, and have no war3 experience.) So, in short, I was very much not helpful, and can only offer encouragement. :Heh: |

Thanks, Star. Considoring the game has over 100 triggers now, a new xp system, a new hero system, and its been balanced to HELL, im not suprised ive spent around 50 hours on it even though its my first custom map. Anyways, I'll be posting the map today around 4 or 5 Eastern Time. Hopefully it wont be too buggy with multiple players, but there is no telling. Thanks again for the support. |

Well it may not be so good to attach your map here, ppl might steal your ideas and make a crappy map and then you release yours and noone will be impressed... I suggest you mail it instead. |

Well, what I was thinking was that I would copy-protect the map using another map editor so others couldn't mod it. How secure is it to do this? |

YO I need some advice for map copy-protection! I'm not sure what prog is best to use for this, and advice would be GREATLY appreciated! |

I've never really used the copy protection progs, but i've really heard no complaints out of them. My guess would be that they work fairly well. I suggest you stick to Kerry's idea. Why copy protect it? Sure, it might seem like a suitable method, but in the end the mailing of your map is a lot less frustrating and faster. Regardless, i wish you best of luck in your endeavors. |

Ok, I'll take your advice and not post it. But, I need people to contact me by either AIM or my Email( both are at the top of this thread). I really need testers and feedback soon; I have entered the stage of gameplay development and this is crucial. Thanks. |
