Hello, I was wondering if it were possible to save a hero using the hero save feature offered in WEU, and load them in another map that contains the same data? Or is loading the hero only avaiable in the map you saved it in? The reason I ask is because I plan to design a expansion for my Dofus map for your current character to explore if possible. Starting in Ankama and continueing in another continent much like in Guild Wars. |

There are built in function to save heros (no need to have WEU) that uses a game cache. Keep in mind, that saving and getting info in a new map from a game cache only works in single-player. Check out the tutorials section for a tutorial on how. |

That's why I use the WEU version that allows you to save a hero with a password and load it in agame without using a campaign. It works on bnet and on single player. If I did not explain correctly, I am talking about the save as if you wanted to save your hero, then exit the game come back tomarrow to it and load it again in a diffrent hosted game that is still the same map. When you use the cache, all data is cleared after you exit warcraft III, not to mention it only works with a campaign. People who use WEU should know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm not good at explaining things. |

The only way to transfer data between one play session of a map and another on battle.net is via save / load codes. And the more you 'save' into a code, the bigger the code becomes, because it holds more data. |

The WEU thing doesn't exactly work, to my knowledge (puts up some non-existant func errors for WE), however, if you want a nice system that will allow you to save just about anything, take a look at this great resource by Vexorian. Its relatively easy to put into your map, and also relatively easy to figure out how to save other values with it by looking at the samples as well. One thing though, if you use this with Vexorian's Caster System you'll end up needing to rename the functions dealing with pools in one or the other (not too hard, but just a warning). Good luck to ya, I've got mine done, finally. |
