Hey, I started working on this map called Conquer the Outland since beginning of December but really it was a major revision of a map that I started last spring. It's a horde v. alliance race for the first team to defeat Illidan in his Black Temple. The hero control is similar to a hero siege without the tomes and more team oriented with no overpowered AOE moves. It should appeal to people who like hero sieges though. The map size is I think is medium even though much of it is abyss at the moment except for the main battling area. There are three lanes with four heroes per team so it’s going to require some coordination to be the fastest one. What is preventing the teams from just rushing to the enemy and killing him (of course a group of level ones would obviously be crushed) is four energy gate things that are controlled by a floating necropolis. Once you destroy the necropolis, which will be guarded with a hero unit and a few of his pawns, the energy gate will be destroyed and the heroes can pass without being severely damaged. The Illidari (the Forces under control of Illidan) are able to pass through these gates. I probably will have these necropolises spawn there own stream of more powerful units yet not as many and as often. My map has a ton of options that can be tweaked in order to make it a awesome game. I triggered almost all of the important game triggers even though it is probably not as finely tuned as it should be for a release. My reason here for posting is that I would like someone to join me in creating this map. I need a lot of help with heroes and just overall someone to communicate with for ideas and so on. I've created absolutely no items so far but I would consider those the least of my concerns. There is much more to my map that I could post but I don't feel it that important that it would change peoples minds about the map. I'm not creating this map to be the next best map. It's just something to spend my time on and I enjoy doing so. I have a website that I've created with the little html I've learned so far in high school. I almost forgot to post the link....:) http://cto.50webs.com I also have forums that you can get to by visiting the website. If you are wondering why this is probably my first post. That’s because I’m usually seeking advice at Thehelper.net or just browsing forums. |

JASS:call IssuePointOrderLocBJ( GetLastCreatedUnit(). "move", GetRandomLocInRect(gg_rct_Region_000) ) Should be a , rather than a . after the GetLastCreatedUnit(). That also leaks, and uses a BJ. Suggest you check out some JASS tutorials. |

Yeah I've read part of Vex's tutorial. He teaches with dealing with numbers mainly but I'm trying to make triggers that I will actually use. It's still a great tutorial anyway. Thanks for actually checking out my site btw! Your probably the first. I may post a protected version of the map for you guys to get a better understanding of what my focus is. It's hard to explain mainly because it's not been done before as far as I know. Also, I know BJ's are bad, I'll have to find out how to get rid of those nasty triggers. It's hard trying to find out if my triggers are efficient when I have very nice computer. My map may cause massive lag on poor to average computers for all I know, hopefully not. I'll post a protected version of my map on the website shortly. bye |

Heres a link to a protected version of the map As you can see, there are some issues that need to be addressed. The password to the file is cto. The reason why I have a password is because I don't want anyone else but people interested in joining my team (which is only me) in making this map. It's hard to judge how far it is to fully operational. It's more like me adding additions to the core game though some of them are critical (fully triggered heroes). You can check out a hero that I made a few spells for in the hero map on my website. Btw: I upgraded the repeating image from that ugly red brick to a cool Black Temple statue. I took that shot looking up at it using worldeditor. Cropped it, removed the background and tried to remove the shadow so it seems like a fluid wall of statues. While playing the map keep in mind that that's not even close to the final terrain. It's more of a basic layout and once I have the game running smoothly, I'll add doodads and tile variation. It's just that I feel like building the terrain around the game play not the other way around. I've actually decided to install a counter onto the site just because I wan't to know if anyones actually been going onto it. So far zero people have downloaded my map Edit: The password to the file is cto, I forgot to say this. |
