Don't mention the demo, it gives SP sad feelings he can't understand and channels into anger. |

Singleplayer AI is going to be done by myself... hopefully in a way that would be defined as good in one way or another. Melee AI... is a whole other can of worms though. Not sure how that will end up yet. |

Is there any estimate to when this will come out? |
| 04-01-2007, 03:16 AM | #8 |
No. There will be a demo within a reasonable time span with six missions. We're not suggesting an end date because we'll keep whacking this thing until it resembles the shape we want. |

In other words, it'll be out by warcraft 4. J/k, you could always hire someone with good AI knowledge. |

You're getting your questions confused. The AI isn't slowing us down at all. |

the demo of 6 missions, will it be humans, orcs, both? will it have the bandits and mobs and stuff in it? will it be a good chunk of the real storyline, or are you gonna leave that out to tantalize us? so far, how many units per race do you intend to have? same as war1(plus heroes) or are there gonna be some that werent in warcraft 1 that you think should be? what sorts of animals do you want me to sacrifice on an altar to please you Dawn of Chaos gods to give me a taste? i only have a few dollar, but that could buy a TON of feeder guppies! if i asked you to marry me, would you take it offensively? |

There will be three missions for both main races, and they will be the first three missions from both campaigns so this will be the real storyline. Bandits will be making an appearance in at least one mission as creeps. Gameplay will also vary a bit from level to level. For example, level two for both campaigns is more based around doing 'quests' where as mission 3 for both will be about good ol' fashion Warcraft army building. Mission 1... well, can anyone say glorified tutorial, heh. ---------------------- Quote:
There will be incidental units that are added to your team every so often, but on the whole it will be the same units as Warcaft 1 plus heroes. There are a few new buildings we're adding, but I'll be releasing more about that this week, so stay tuned! ---------------------- Quote:
No advanced sacrifices are needed, just be sure to click every rabbit, chicken, cow, raccon, fox, and lion to death while playing! ---------------------- Quote:
Take it offensively, no... find it creepy, yes. Hope this helps! Good to see you again mate! |

hahaha, the exploding sheep (and use of cows and flying sheep and more) has always been one of my favorite bits of blizzard's sense of humor, and its great to know it will be making its way in to your game! a few more questions (can you tell i am a small bit excited?). will you guys be adding any cool secrets like were in warcraft 3. places with hidden items, maybe even secret levels or quests that you have to be rather tricky to find? will we ever get to have a party of heroes, like we did with rexxar and crew in TFT, or will it be more like warcraft, warcraft 2 and starcraft, where you get a few heroes here and there, but for the most part, you rely on them as backup for your army, not as your main forces. i think it was about 8 months ago or so that you guys said you would be adding in a very unique system for the heroes, allowing you to customize them more than in warcraft 3 with skills and such. any new info on that? thanks again buddies! and even if you don't want to marry me, you guys still rock :P |

There will be secret levels, mostly of the Brood War persuasion (that is to say, beat a certain level in a certain way to unlock it.) As for the heroes, you will have a party of three that develops over the course of the campaign (Lothar-Khadgar-Uther, Doomhammer-Deadeye-Gorefiend/Skullcrusher), and there will be incidental demiheroes in other missions in addition to this, such as Aedelas Blackmoore, Turalyon, Garona, Rend and Maim, etc. As for the hero system, John could answer better than I. |
