What gives you the right to forbid people to modify DMMOD anyway? You can't copyright it, warcraft III isn't yours and anything you make with warcraft or a product supplied with it isn't fully yours either. The most you could do is protect everything and ask people nicely not to change anything; but you can't force them not to.

Amen, my brother!! [j/k]

Actually, modifying it a little and maybe playing with friends isn't so much a problem, as changing something in it and then telling everyone it's yours. Get it?

Berry2k,

I made the DM MOD and I can say whether or not it can be modified and whether or not I allow it. Since the DM MOD is free, I can have my rights to not to allow the modification of any of the files of the MOD.

I know you want to edit the DM MOD System to use with your old D&D and then release it, but if you do, you will get in a BIG problem, because you know that I have NOT ALLOWED you to do this (check my PM replies). You won't be happy if I was the one that edit your maps/projects.

So I say that editing/modification of the files of the DM MOD and then distributing it is NOT ALLOWED by me, and I am the creator of this MOD, so please, respect my rules. If not, Berry, I will go further with this. You have been adviced.

thanks for respecting me and my program.

Well Berry, I told you the other day that miki does not allow modifications to the DM Mod. You said he approved. Guess you were mistaken.
You KNOW that modifying this is wrong. It's more than just a map, it's a whole new way to play the game. It's too bad that you lost your help on your mod, but that doesn't give you the right to alter miki's.
Just accept that he was able to finish his while you weren't able to finish yours and get over it already.
Devote your time to coming up with something new that no one else has tried yet. All this bad blood is not what this community is about.
And I think if you continue, you will find that most people will be in agreement with miki on this one. Just let it go.

You are right; altough you can´t really copyright it(possibly if Blizzard allows it, still their game), that´s not really the point, it would not be fair of me to modify and release it without his leave. Dorelian, know that I do not wish any credit for the DMMOD, or that I wanted to ´improve´ it so it could bear my name, but I need to alter it in some not very significant ways so that my map(Warcraft III: Dungeons&Dragons) may work properly with it.
For now I have decided to make an RPG version of it, which will keep me busy for a while. I do hope that in the near future Mikititan will give me one of his ´licences´ so that I can make Warcraft III: Dungeons&Dragons as it was intended to be.
Forgive me, for in my rashness to finally finish Warcraft III: Dungeons&Dragons I was not reasonable.
