Observer enters chat message as event?

Is it possible for an observer to trigger anything at all? I did a little testing, and it seems, as though events just stop working for observers. Maybe I missed something or there is a workaround.

Any help would be appreciated.

That is quite likely, as observers aren't supposed to be able to affect the game in any way. Why are you looking for something like this?

I'm modifying FFA-Maps to include some features like "-ap" or "-kick NAME". Right now I simply limit these options to player 1. But I would like to make it possible to choose an admin, and that would often have to be an Observer. At the moment I tell players to just enter all options they want and then kill themselves to become Observer, but that's obviously no solution... Especially on smaller Maps like Friends, where the Observers have to be Obsever from the beginning.

make the host always your admin by abusing the way wc3 is on bnet. Sync local player numbers in same variable, this will make sure everyone gets the number the host has :P
