When you mean this, do you mean like rpg or campaign idea. Or a totally different game idea? Heres a sorta new one. Sheep Herders The first round starts with a few sheep which mill around occasionally, and then a few players as dogs with fast speed. When the dogs come near the sheep they flee away. For the first round or two thats all it is. Then add things like other animals or monsters who will eat, or also scare sheep. Shallow water which if the sheep enter they drown. Maybe things like finding food, so that the sheep won't starve on their exodus. (Might be boring might be fun, depends how its done. If you make it more silly the better) Frogger Ok this isn't really new but it hasn't been done right for WC 3. Basic frogger, but you move by hitting the keys H,S,A,P or so. Revolt The king is tyranical it's time to bring him down. Six opposing rebels. When you wander up to people, depending on random number, they will either join you, be neutral, or attack you. You have to conquer the entire city by killing the other rebel leaders and the king. You make deals with other rebel leaders to gain control of areas. Every once in a while the Kings Militia will patrol streets and you have to advoid them. Various different types of people to join, findable weapons, and strategic alliances would make this interesting. Pyramid Rob the pyramids, gain wealth fain, and hapiness. Only problems is those damn mummies and their traps. Six brave, greedy pyramid robbers and the mummy. The Mummy can set off traps at times, (all traps give warnings so they can dodge or use skills) and the treasure hunters must avoid, go another way, or run. Treasure hunters level more as go farther into pyramid, and have skills which can save them from traps (Such as perhaps an edited 2,4,6 divine shield). The treasure hunters can find places to disable traps, or items which will let them escape a trap or two. The treasure room and mummy are created randomly, as well as the start location (As long as it isn't to close). Lord's Messengers You and the other messengers must make it to the Capital city in time, or your entire Kingdom is doomed. Horses constantly move forward, you can move them left or right with s and h, and shoot forward with another button. You have to advoid various dangerous doodads, monsters, and highway men in your desperate ride. 2-4 players, perhaps respawn at begining. Battles for the Ring LotR inspired map, as well as SC civil war maps. Includes all the major battles in LotR with various objectives. At begining you can choose a single mission, or the entire campaign. Each area an enclosed area with just the important things. Objectives include Survive Time Limit, Kill certain amount of enemies, kill more at end of time then enemies, take the Points of Importance. Includes all the major battles, and the army is split between players, if 1 player they get entire army, 2 split, and so on. To win you must properly make use of mix of troops, such as archers, infantry, and specials. Probably shouldn';t stick to close to book and add some artillery units, to take more combination and strategy. Interactive Story Game Its an interactive story game! much like those choose your own adventure books. You choose from menu, and those choices lead to more choices, which lead to more choices. This would take a good writer, a lot of time, and some good cinematics, but with a good cinematic maker could be very fun Zombify (Based off Vamp Hunters) The Zombie lords have caught wind off the dastardly Vamps using zombies for corpses, and have decided to rid the world of those annoying mosquitos. The Zombie lords challeng the Vampires, in the region of Arenborn where as it happens the vampires have already made the humans mindless cattle. A battle royale, Zombies kill civilans and get zombies, and Vamps kill civs and get shadows. Troops gotten this way are controllable and if you take them to certain upgrade points it will combine a set of them into a version which is weaker then whole group together, but is one unit instead of like 10. Civs respawn every day, items, no main town, but cultivating humans is way to success. A Perfect Murder First think of Murder in the graveyards, or manshion. Now make everyone out to kill everyone else. Include creepy music to get the feeling right. Everyone starts allied, but can unally at any time. Try to off players through the various traps on maps, or explosives, or just melee beating on them. Try to convince other players to kill eachother so that you can finish off and win. Last person standing, or last person to gather all the pieces to open the door (This way you can convince you are friendly) Defend This Ever wondered how it would be, to be one of those poor monsters in a tower defense. Being forced to charge forward into a mass barrage of towers, to your certain death, well heres your chance. A team of 4 human monsters, and comp monsters, and opposed 2 human tower builders. You must make it to the end on each try, by using other monsters as shields, sneaking by areas, or just destroying all in path. Monster levels as passes progression points on level, but if dies loses all levels. Buildings have invincible workers, a bunch of begining safety turrets, and a long distance between them and spawn. |

There's a nifty game-type in Tribes 2 called Rabbit. It is similar to capture the flag: the idea is that it is FFA, and you get points for the length of time you hold the flag. If you die, the flag drops to the ground until someone else picks it up. So basically everyone tries to kill the flag carrier and the flag carrier tries to run away from everyone. :) Its called Rabbit since in Tribes 2 running away usually involves bouncing around with your jump pack. I would guess that a similar idea would work well in Warcraft III because of the focus on tactical combat. There really wouldn't be much too it, except designing a map where it is "balanced" enough to be fun (e.g., running away has to be possible -- maybe random waygates all over the map; and catching the flag carrier has to be possible also; you'd have to integrate units in to be able to help your hero and figure out which items would be beneficial -- e.g., potion of invis, boots of speed, etc.). The interesting gameplay bit is in the shifting alliance; it is sort of 1 vs everyone else, but once the flag drops there is a FFA interlude where everyone is chaotically trying to grab the flag. :) magnus |

I find the media to be a good place to look for ideas. Movies, TV, Games are all good places. Or you can redo a map thats on BNet, just make it better, if you think you can. For example I seen a DBZ Arena Make that is horrible. It just looks like they went doodad happy. Also a lot of people are make Night of the Living Dead maps, and playing it as Resident Evil. I have yet to see a good Resident Evil map on Bnet. LOTR is a bit played out, but you could try othe medieval movies. Like Braveheart, Willow, Legend, or King Arthur. So many ideas, so little time. |

Guest | Stuck in the Mud (Freeze Tag) I got a cool minigame idea! It's a 12 player map where you vote for three people to be "in" The people that's are in have to tag all the other players who are running away on the field. Once tipped, the user will get entangled and may not move UNTIL a person that is NOT in tags them to unfreeze them. It keeps going on until all 9 players are frozen, which then it will restart and choose 6 random players (6 people that are in). There will also be plenty of powerups and stuff (speed potion) and a rare item - Glyph of Purification which unfreezes all players within a specific radius. It keeps going and adding another 3 players each time until there's only 3 left. The remaining three have to survive for at least 2 minutes to win the game or will suffer defeat to the "in" people. Okay I'll begin starting constructing it today. Tackle Bullrush Everyone knows this game.... Stand in a damn line, a person is in the middle, either calls out a person's name to run to the other side or calls out bullrush which makes the whole team run. The person in the middle has to tackle a person until they fall down and die. After using their ankh they'll revive as "in" helping the other people in the middle tackle people. This is triggered to call out a person name by either typing "bullrush" or "player *" There will also be plenty of powerups of course. Last person to not get tackled wins - but has to suffer one more run across :gsmile: Dodge Ball! First of all, there'll be 12 people, 6 standing in the middle and 6 making a huge circle around them. There'll be two balls flying around thrown by the people outside and the people inside have to run away from the ball. The last person in wins. And after each game the people that are in and throwing will swap over. And of course I'll write my own custom AI for these games :D So who wants to help? Anyway, I don't need anybody but I'm a lazy guy who only play games all day. |

Guest | On the Zombie Hunter note: I've been playing with the idea of using triggers to force a unit into the "Stone Form" of a gargolye during the "day" period. Might be fun to have certain areas with tons of gargs that's passable only during the day. You could also have a spell or item called Sun-something that has an area of effect that turns them to stone. Anyways...just a thought. I haven't found a use for this in my new map. |

Guest | Liquid that sounds like a cool idea, I would be happy to help you out with the triggers. |
