I'd take them more seriously if you changed that damn sig! |

The sig is not part of the project. That is all. |

the fog and sky ruins the atmosphere, but i like some of it.. a lot of it is doodad spam though |

It may be great work, but i think people use alot of time, using their current knowledge just to make something that has been made thousand times before, and i think it's a bit waste of time. Cust it wont be very popular anyway. One good thing is u learn alot when making, but then you should invent new things or make things you think is possible but dont know how, you learn better that way. |

Well, my 2 cents: - A bit too flat - Way to many shades of puke green - The trees are an eyesore - Too chaotic, I can't tell the lanes apart from... everything else - You've somehow managed to hurt my eyes using mostly green - You need more doodads that aren't some form of plant life - Did I mention the green? |

It's pretty and all, but AOS means lag, so lots of doodads = bad. |

I like the second screenie :D PS: Whitehorn is 100% correct. Reduce the use of doodads, which means remove some shrubs and trees. :D |

Only 4 heroes for each side?? |
| 04-13-2007, 11:54 PM | #11 |
I don't like it becouse it doesn't look like an AoS at all, It ain't about the beauty, it's about the terrain functionality. |

Umm, it's about some war held in a beautiful forest. <_< And no, it doesn't lag. And just 4 heroes because it's still in alpha stage. And it is too flat, I'll fix that later :P Quote:
These are just screenshots of it's beauty, you'll discover that there are alot of ways to sneak and hide. EDIT: Oh yeah, and I think Chriz's everwood blend in nicely in the scene. |

Alright not bad, however what kills it for me... the CLIFFS omg no. get WEU and learn to raise and lower the terrain and create a nice cliff that way. The cliff kinda of sets out due to your "green" setting and all a sudden this hunkin cliff of brown is there, its just a no to my eyes. The trees dont really fit with the nightelf area, there are some nice WoW trees, its not a big deal its just a hmmm? (although in some areas of the night elf picture the tree you have goes aswomely well) the grass- nice.. however i recomend getting another one, a smaller one and this one place spratlicly between the huge grasses you have and maybe reduce the size on your current grass by like .15 or something (see if it looks better) If you change the max angle on some doodads you can make them angle to the ground.. in some cases this is great for rocks, other cases its stupid however you could use it on some of your areas to make it more athsetic instead of a straight up rock on a hill (1.0 will make the model lean exactly the way the terrain is anything lower will lean even less according to the terrain (this sometimes looks good on trees, example: in DBZ Tribute, in hell and above the bottom left part of the map there are some trees angled to the terrain (quite funny to find so many people as how he did that =P ) ) That fountain is hugely out of place, not to mention its raised ( to raise and lower doodads have a doodad/destructible selected(can be plural) then hold ctrl while you hit Page Up or hold (depending on the speed you want/ page up will raise the object) or use Page Down. Use this to lower that floating fountain of yours, also you could use this on some of the rocks you have on your map to lower them making some rocks not have that "foot" texture they have and just the actual rock part (which i perfer generaly) Your hero selection area, is.. well i dunno i dont like that the rest of the map is good but your hero selection area is intresting the vine model isnt to hot in mass if you dont use it right. maybe just recreate a little bit of forest around the heroes? -- I know this isnt about the terrain but your hero model selction isnt really in a "theme" of any kind, Ifrit against Titain Night Elf aganist Blood Elf Tauren aganist Human O_o? Also becareful which models you use for your heros.. ive used some of those models and i know they take up a decent amount of space, and im sure or at least think im sure that you dont want a 4 hero limit for each side lol. (maybe with more heros the diffrence in each will not be so notice able) As some people have said, some fog would go well nice light color not very dense, it will make those screen shots not look like they just drop off lol. Also to veiw more terrain at once you could always hold Ctrl and use your scroll wheel on the mouse to increase or decrease the amount of terrain you want to veiw at once. Good Work ^^, keep it up. |

Umm, it's about night elves retaliating against humans who greed so much for lumber and they summon one of the guardian which is Ifrit, then the humans capture this Titan and fight for them. Then heroes rise, blah blah blah the white cow comes up and that ninja guy shows up blah blah.. And I will NEVER use WEU, I personally think it's for the new users. The fountain makes it beautiful imo, I took the idea from AoM :P EDIT: And those trees are the only one I can find with a birth and death anim, I have knockbacks which destroy them, I wouldn't want the players to see a tree instantly disappear. |

Not to mention the ability to have unlimted scaling allows you to turn a column into a stair, a barrel into a pole, and form things together to make walls. There are other hacks that do things like this, however i use WEU because for me its stabel and reliable, might just be my computer though =P. Heh dang i under stand why you use only those trees then ^_^. yes fountain is fine.. just lower it its floating in the screen shot lol. =P |
