Cliff terrain isn't working...

Ok. In the WE, I made like a mountain kinda thing, and made the cliffs snowy (using the snow cliff). It looks fine. In game... Well, in game, it's blocky grass surrounded by the snow cliff. It's kinda hard to explain, but basically what's happening is the terrain isn't showing up properly. The same thing happened with the other cliff terrains. Could it be the terrain next to the cliff terrain, because I changed it with no sucess. And this isn't happening with any flat terrain or anything like that.

BTW, I'm using WEU 1.20 and made my own tileset, but didnt' add/remove the cliffs. Any idea what's causing my problem?

If need be, I think I can get some screen shots.

Screenshots would help the best.

I think the problem is the texture, and then you are lacking the alpha channel (everything is seen). The tiles will draw 2 textures at touching points (the top has the edge version and the bottom has a random normal version). If the top isn't transparent, it will be like a block since the tile will end abruptly at the next tile.

Its probably because the cliff and the surrounding tile arent made to go together, and become squares. Ive had this happen to me before.

Think all tiles can work with any other tiles. I cannot completely confirm it, but I believe the tiles layer with the first tile in the tile list at the bottom, and then the tiles stack on top of all lower tiles to it, and tiles above it get stacked on top.

None of what anyone said made sense (especially RDZ's and Ammorths =P) But I'll go grab a screenshot so you see what I mean. (I can't do a WE screenshot, cause my computer is stupid like that.)

EDIT: Sorry about the screenshot being in TGA, I don't have a program to convert it with otherwise. Sorry.

@Ammoroth: Uhh, why would I have problems with like, alpha channels and things like that if it's a tile found in the game to begin with? I didn't import it or anything.

EDITEDIT: Posted wrong screenshot. dammit.

I was just about to google that. I had it on my old computer, just never bothered to get it again.

EDIT: Damn, wrong screenshot. I'll repost it after i get irfan.
EDITEDIT: Idk why, but my computer royally fucks all my screenshots. Pyrograsm is taking one for me.

I do not. My world editor does. Props to Pyrogasm for taking the screenshot though, thanks a ton.

Something is over-riding the original cliffs that should be snow but are being changed to grass. Check the map in an MPQ editor/extractor and see if you have any custom imports (WEU might import files that are messing with this that you wouldn't notice in the WE).

Hm... Should I just remove the tiles until it's back to the original tileset? I don't think I even use any of the ones I added =p

I think I discovered the issue. I think I added those cliff tiles into the tileset with WEU, and it's causing problems. I'll go change them back to their "original" then fix the tileset.

Well whaddya know. It IS WEU. I can't use those added tiles as cliffs =p. Well, at least I figured it out. Now to just change it and see.

I would recommend that, seeing as how you don't use them. I don't use WEU so I don't know exactly how it works, I can only tell you how a vanilla WE would achieve the same thing.

I can't remove them, but I can just not use them for cliffs.

In each map, the cliff textures are stored in ReplaceableTextures\Cliff\Cliff0.blp and ReplaceableTextures\Cliff\Cliff1.blp. You need to extract the correct images from the archive (the Lordaeron Winter cliffs are ReplaceableTextures\Cliff\W_Cliff0.blp for winter grass cliff and ReplaceableTextures\Cliff\W_Cliff1.blp for snowy cliff) and import those into your map with the names:

ReplaceableTextures\Cliff\Cliff0.blp
ReplaceableTextures\Cliff\Cliff1.blp

This will solve your problem. Go over to the Map Testing Forum, find my poll on The Story of the Norj'Hal Elves, Act II, download the map, and look at what I did in this way to add the Underground "natural" cliff texture to the cityscape tileset. Note that I left the cityscape man-made cliff texture "as is," so you can certainly mix and match cliffs like that. Notice also that this will change the appearance of bridges, ramps, and cliff doodads.
