I've been toiling over this god-damned map for a long time, although admittedly with long intervals. It was a magnificent pain in the ass. But here it is. This is The Kingdom of Azeroth, as depicted in The Dawn of Chaos. For maximum effect download both ours and the provided original and switch back and forth between them. Some changes were to accomodate newer spellings or to correct errors, some were to put things there that should have been there in the first place, and one or two were to accomodate our own locations. The original map is from the Warcraft: Orcs and Humans manual, and the new one (which is the first one shown) is modified by me. |

That map is actually very, very well done! I especially appreciate the seam and how you fixed it! In the campaign, will this map be a part of the loading screen? |

Not sure where it'll get used, other than the manual. And to remind ourselves where everything goes. The seam was hard. I still imagine that I can see it, but it's probably psychological. The other hard thing was Redridge Keep and to a lesser degree Sentinel Hill, since I had to make new pictures. Sunnyglade too, to an even lesser degree. And the 'z' in 'Karazhan' since there wasn't one on the map and I had to make my own... |

haha i just noticed... Blizzard put the name Stonewind Keep in the place where Stormwind Keep should be they probably changed the name of it after they made the map |

I always figured it was just a mistake. Stonewind is nonsense. |

Within Warcraft 1 they're called the Swamps of Sorrow (not Swamp of Sorrows). |

that map begs to differ |

WITHIN Warcraft 1 you freak. Look here if you don't believe me: http://www.wowwiki.com/Battles_of_the_First_War |

I guess Blizzard's folks should have paid more attention when they made that map. Stonewind is likewise incorrect :P |

Also, what's that about "Redridge Keep"? Is it a human fortress? Seems a bit odd to have one there including a jolly big path right down to Black Rock Spire, making that big gate rather pointless. In Warcraft 1 only an 'encampment' is mentioned in the Red Ridge Mountains; in World of Warcraft there's a ruined keep called Stonewatch Keep (but it could have been built long after the first war). Only the problem I see is that if it's human then it makes no sense that the orcs haven't done their utmost best to get rid of a stronghold so close to their capitol at Black Rock, and if it's orcish then destroying Rockard and Stonard won't cut off reinforcement lines to Black Rock at all, because they can still come from Red Ridge. |

Refer to the Dawn of Chaos story post for more information on Redridge Keep. |

Nice map, it's looking really good. Will there be a coloured version aswell or only black and white? |
