war3mapPreview.tga

When I import a TGA image, generated via photoshop, I set it up properly, open it with Preview and then export it as TGA so that it's just a plain TGA image.

I import the image, change the path to war3mapPreview.tga, then when I open it up in Warcraft III. Poof. It crashes and does nothing.

I try to make my mini-map preview images and they just make Warcraft III crash.

Any suggestions as to what's going on?

BTW - if it involves removing/adding alphas, can someone explain how to do that on Photoshop?

Doesn't it accept tga's? It uses them for icons...

no, for previews, it must be a tga file.

when you save it, ensure that the file is 32 bits, not 24.

About adding alpha.... check in the toolbox where is the layers, there is a tab for channels, select it, and you'll see the red, green and blue channels. there is a button to create a new channel, create it, and that will we the alpha.

Icons are .blp's. Apparent the post above verifies you need a .tga for what you want, though.

Um... thanks =) So I had been F$#%ing up my previews all this time, it's meant to be 32 not 24.

Um... thanks moyack
