Hi wc3.

I want to show a construction pack for warcraft im working on.
The idea with this pack is that you shall be able to create a beautifull city terrain, and indoor terrain.

Now I have finished 3 models, wall_blank, wall_window, wall_door,
but more will come. I have also animated the door and the window.

They all use ingame-textures, and im not planing to use any custom textures.

Please tell me if you like it or not
Have a good day!

this doesnt have anything to do with my packs, dont they?? :P

well, the framework is very stretched and looks like you can count pixels...
and they have no depth... i mean, you have a 3d programm, not 2d... try to do something to make them look as if they where actually built and not set...

No it dosent have anything to do with your models. I got the idea of making a pack like this long long time ago, but my 3D/Animation skills wasnt good enough.

Yes the textures look a bit weird at the indoor side of the wall, but I dont think warcraft have any bigger textures to use. Im writing this on my fix_list.

About the depht... It have depht Not so much but it have. Its just hard to see on the screenshots.

oh, btw you should unwrapp the stone wall a bit different, without the big stone... its too obvious in the pattern!

well, would you do some screenies to show depth? i mean... what is depth good for if you cannot see it -_-

Yes your right, it looks stupid with the big rock.
You got a point about the depht. I will recreate them, and try adding some more depht

Thanks for the comments

no problem, i am interested in seeing more versions...
some asked me about nightelven packs aswell!

the lower border stones should go out much more...
which program are you using? if max try tinting colour for different textures, that would make them stand out a little bit more... (you dont have to recreate them, just drag the vertices more far away from the wall itself)

maybe moddeling the upper margin would look good aswell, as the texture suggests one stone row looking out of the others, add a box there and skin it with this row only maybe...

these are just hints, you can model it how you want to...

Yes im using 3dsmax.
Im trying to do so it work with wc3 paths system.
The lenght must max be 32 pixel (or how it calls in 3d) and widght max 256.

Thanks for the hints. I upload some pictures when im done.

As you can see one the screenshots I got a problem with the shadows on the walls.
I think it has something to do whit the way warcraft show shadows.
So maybe I should containue on they other models?

Very nice and useful. We have plenty of house-made sets but this one is pretty good, especially for the animated windows and doors. None the less... it's still worth the credit of doing a good job.

That last post of yours, the walls look odd the way they're shaded like that, might want to fix that a tad. :)
