Guest | Finally, after long hours of mapping, "Shadows of Evil" is complete! I would like to thank 3DGuy for his time in creating the minigames, movies, and all the other stuff he helped out with. So here are the features: ----------------------------------------------------------- - Full storyline - Over a dozen cutscenes - Custom music - Custom boss fight system - Priest system for reviving heros - 2 Full Minigames - New hero classes - Several fully developed towns, dungeons, forests, etc. - Several side quests and main quests - Lots more, just download it and play! One word of advice, this RPG is hard! Some screenshots: http://www.students.uiuc.edu/~kaggarwa/Untitled-1.jpg http://www.students.uiuc.edu/~kaggarwa/Untitled-2.jpg http://www.students.uiuc.edu/~kaggarwa/Untitled-3.jpg http://www.students.uiuc.edu/~kaggarwa/Untitled-4.jpg ----------------------------------------------------------- AND FINALLY, THE DOWNLOAD URL: http://www.students.uiuc.edu/~kaggarwa/shadows.zip Please email me at [email protected] with comments. Thanks. |

(I've e-mailed this to kaggz too in case he isn't watching forum) I couldn't make it entirely through your map because of a bug, and the _extreme_ difficulty, especially if not everyone knows what they're doing :p 1. Get rid of the opening shot of the helper and just have it start out where you can type skip and display text message saying, "Type skip now to skip intro. All players must type skip in order for intro to be skipped." Also expand the duration to 15 seconds, just a tad bit too short (one person didn't get it in in time and it was extremely annoying). Also may want to consider just making sure the majority typed yes, cuz watching intro over is just painfull... (Albeit looks cool) 2. Permanent game over sucks, especially in an RPG map of this difficulty. Consider letting the player choose other heroes or bring them back to town with no items and an xp penalty. I've never played a computer/video rpg where death was absolutely permanent ;) 3. Consider forcing holy light as the first skill on the hero that has it (druid of the talon methinks). Just as an idiot protection measure. 4. BUG: I picked Arthas as Player1, moved around a little, and then player2 picked Arthas also, and my arthas died and another was created or mine was warped to the start (not sure which), and was now blue, and in control of player2. I had no hero :p 5. BUG?: So I used the fifth wisp, since there was no fifth player, to pick the mountain king. He didn't gain xp :p 6. Just a suggestion, but heal and give full mana after hero battles, the only way to survive guys after golem was to sit there and regen for awhile, and this got monotonous and boring. 7. Why can everyone control everyone else's guy? Not sure if this is bug or feature or what, but I can see it being used in abusive ways. May just wanna make it so you get control of the heroes of player's who leave or aren't there to begin with. |

Just in case kaggz haven't look for awhile... 1. It was meant to play the intro cuz IT WAS the main background of the story. And I was the one who made it. 2. Losing in the game mean you suck! And besides ressurecting your hero all over again would be boring. Have you ever played Final Fantasy? What happens if you die? You get back to your last save point right? What if you haven't saved your game? :p 3. It's all up to the player, we AREN'T forcing players to choose Holy Light. 4. I haven't checked that bug, you should speak to kaggz. 5. The Share units alliance should have been a blooper made by kaggz. Don't worry its just a pre-release. 6. You must make tactics and strategies wisely. This RPG was meant to be hard! 7. It's a mistake! doH! |

Guest | How did you make those colums? I've looked through all the doodads and can't seem to find them. Thanks for your help, and it was a very nice map :). |

Your map is hard especially while playing with less then a full house. May I suggest using handicap settings Like setting handicaps 50% when your only 2 guys? Anyway Great Map, Berry2k says he can own you in terrian and your waterfalls are screwy... |

Guest | Guys, this map is supposed to be challenging. You really should have 2 healers on the your team if you plan on getting anywhere. |

If you won't all out lower the difficulty at least allow difficulty levels or something ;) And to 3DGuy: Yes, _if your entire party dies_. If one person dies a sleep at an inn is all that's need to cure yourself of poison, curse, slow, and even death ;) |

Guest | hmm..do you guys think the difficulty makes the map impossible even with 5 players? if it does, then i might consider toning it down a bit. |

Everything's possible, remember when I released my first crappy rpg? All the people said it was hard as hell, well now they say it's the easiest rpg! Let em finish it first then, if it is impossible to finish, we might want lower the level kaggz. |

Hmm... another idea: optimize the triggers or something and remove unnecessary doodads, map takes FOREVER to send to everyone in a game ;) BTW 3DGuy: PLEASE do the intro suggestion I made. Yes, it looks nice, it gives background story, but having to watch it over is really annoying because it's so long. |

Guest | dont lower the difficulty!! , the longer it takes for us to finish the rpg, the longer we'll play it for! :):) also, have u guys considered using the event 'player has skipped cinimetic' isntead of using chat - typed 'skip'? |
