Select Unit Problem

I heard that you can only use the select unit action in single player beacuse it has a bug and slects the unit for all players. i tryed it my self and its true. i really need to make that acton happen I know in FPS demo they fixed this probem but how? is it custom text?

if local player equals (player you want to select it) then select unit

is that custom text?
