Hey everyone, I'm sort of new to wc3campaigns, however unlike most I choose to read stickies, guidelines and rules. But that's besides the point, I've come to wc3c to seek testers for my in-development survival map, similar to good survival maps such as Ice Troll/Jungle Troll tribes, and the original Wilderness Survival maps. Map Name: Maelstrom Survival Concept: The idea is similar to most survival maps, minus heat. To survive, one must regulate a hunger bar and an energy bar. If your hunger drops below a point, your actions are slowed, and eventually, you die. If you run out of energy (which is restored by sleep), you pass out. The idea of being in a jungle makes heat, not necessarily a concern for the survivor. However, in my survival map, the focus is more on player vs. player rather than management of body functions. There are more than 30 types of weapons and armor to craft, and different sets effect your character. For example, owning a full wolf set (bracers, armor, and weapon) can make you into a shaman. You can only use one type of armor/weapon at a time. Huntable animals include wolf, gorilla, turtles, makrura, and others. Each type of animal has unique rare drops such as wolf canines, gorilla skulls, makrura spines, and turtle shells. Full armor sets include helm, bracers, boots, and weapon. Progress: I'm about half-done with the map. The terrain is 100% done, triggers about 50%, and I've created about 90% of the custom units, items, and abilities. I'm a high school student and have a job, so I believe with continued progress it will take another 2 weeks before balancing and testing can begin. So sign up now, I only need 5 testers. :) Testers: As they are added, they will be listed here. Feel free to post casual feedback on ideas as well! |

Sounds good. But why do you request testers to sign in now, two weeks before beta version completion? Do you really expect folks to struggle to test your map? |

No, I plan on testing it myself personally many, many times and make sure each player is completely functioning. I'm mostly seeking testers to help for balance issues, etc. I figured I'd start searching now because it's not so easy to find good testers. Thanks for the map praise though :) feel free to throw some rep around. |
