oh hai guyz. sup? It’s something I’ve been working on since September 2005, which sadly is longer that what I can recall with my failing and short-ranged memory. I have barely any memories of that time. Because it’s so old, this project has lost all meaning for me long ago already, as it does not reflect --at all-- anything that the current me can do or would have liked to do… It has become the work of another person, a painfully sucking 15-year-old, and I have inherited the duty of finishing it at last (rather a burden than a duty, actually… having to finish this thing has prevented me from working on far cooler projects, that *I* would have wanted to do. I’ve spent about 260 hours on it so far (although I could have spent only a third of this time had I worked efficiently))… I should have finished it one year ago. Or even earlier. Back then, it would have been meaningful. But now… April 2007… if I had know when I first planned it that I’d still be working on it by then, I’d probably never have started it to begin with. See kids, this is where procrastination leads. For Christ’s shake, don’t repeat my mistake. Work, goddamnit! Do what you have to do, I beg you! Right now! Work while there is still time! Work, and never look back! Now I’m *so* ashamed of the story, the dialogues, the drawings... Concerning the drawings, I remade the suckiest among them, but some of these were done no earlier than November 2005… and the story is probably the worst about it all --it was entirely scripted one year and a half ago. Ugh. The cover isn’t done yet, though, so at least the cover-art will be a reminder that, why yes, I can do better art-wise, now. Some words on the story itself, now… it has to be the most narcissistic comic ever, as it’s entirely about myself and my best friend (who, by the way, helped scripting it out, as he’s a main character). It is the extraordinary account of how we cleverly discovered that there is a huge labyrinthic basement under our high school, with underground galleries and stuff (true story), how we boldly hacked into it, and how we found zombies there and how we beat the shit out of about one million of them with rusty shovels, kinda like in the movie 300 except with undeads instead of musl...--er, persians. Eventually I’ll post photos of the actual basement. The comic does not exaggerate in any way the size or the scary look of it… Oh, by the way : the title is “Les Caves”. Unexpected, eh? ^^ So here ya go : ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That's right, the well-expected unexpected ending is that there's NO ENDING HURR HURR. To be continued in the mighty never-to-be-drawn Episode Two. By the way, I did the last page last august, at Kal's, late at night, and I was kinda drunk then. It's what you could call a beer-induced artwork. Edit : oh, and there's a special dedicace to Armel in there. The runes read "Armel est une quiche". Which is actually a quote by himself. |

Well im not going to read it all, but the artwork is great, if it was colored it would ruin the feel unless you kept to a low saturated cool palet |

well, probably in some parts the characters looks very static, but in general, I like it a lot the drawings!!! I remembered when I did my first comic (good times... snif, snif), and I had to take a decision, speed without drawing quality or quality but with slow results. you chose the second option, the best one IMO. Well, when you make a comic, this is the decision that you can't never avoid. BTW, who did the plot?? there are some parts where I say... what the hell... Congratulations. |

Nothing quite as comforting as finishing a project. Good job on plowing through, and although you are no longer working on it, it might be a good idea to try and be a bit more creative with your compositions. The majority of the frames are just main point, no background and no motion. The main problem is how the comic reads, between the setup of the individual frames, and the roughness on some of the drawings themselves. The crosshatching on some of the less important points draws attention and draws away from the comic overall. |

you always had problems with drawing faces, especially with the perspective of a face. There are also little flaws in proportions (of the whole body) in some frames. I like how you rendered the walls though, with all those cracks and stuff but it seems to me that you found this way of solving walls and you liked it very much and so you made all walls exactly the same, with the same straight cracks all over and...identical, basically. A little overkill if you ask me. A little brick showing in some spots or entire brick walls from time to time would have been more refreshing. |
