Darkstar's Open RPG 2

This is what you all (atleast i hope that) have been waiting for. The second part of my Open RPG!

Basics
Genre : RPG
Players: 6
Map-Size: 192x192
Classes: 5 [Empty Space for Updates :D]
Levels: 50
Dungeons: 2-10

Story
After the terrible war in the northern Elduran began, the barbarian horde now also attacks the southern country. The farmers and villagers ware killed or made to slaves, but the south of elduran is too big for the kings forces. The king decides only to protect the royal highland. The villagers of the south west can't do anything against the barbarians, their only hope are the strandet warriors on a south-west-island.

Features
Third Person Cam:
This cam creates a special RPG atmosphere.
Example:

Dungeons
Just like in Darkstar's Open RPG 1, there will be many dungeons to explore and raid in Darkstar's Open RPG 2. They will be more exciting and complex, with new riddles and traps.

Spellsystem
The old spellsystem is still in part 2 of the rpg. But, the classes are now able to modifie their way of skilling. Each character has 2 skill boxes, instead of one. This allows a total of 20 spells!

Quests
Of course there will be many quests in Darkstar's Open RPG 2, and they will be more complex as in part 1.

Custom Spells!
Nearly 70% of all spells will be triggered spells, no standart wc3 spells!

Classes
Cleric
The cleric is a defensive fighter with supporting abilities, but he might aswell survive against more than one monster.

Knight
The knight is a traditional fighter with offensive aswell as defensive spells. He can take on many monsters and is mainly used for tanking.

Ranger
The ranger is already known from the first Darkstar Open RPG. It is a range fighter with heavy damage and intense speed.

Mage
The mage is the most complex character, his spells are really offensive and have really high damage, but when a monster reaches the mage in melee, he should better run.

Necromancer
The necromancer is the best character for fighting alone. His damage is pretty low, but with his summons he can survive really long.

Items
Coming soon. :)

Screenshots
Yeah i know, terrain will be improved when the beta is done.

So when will we be able to get our hands on it? Might I suggest dumping the third-person camera though or atleast give the players the option of setting the camera to stardard view?

I love the 3rd person cam, removing it would give many players the advantage to easily discover secret places and traps!

LOL! funny.

ur terrain needs a lot of work, and as far as i can tell its all pretty standard, try to think up original classes aswell, or atleast give them names that the race would likeley use, ie dont call it a troll mage, its a shaman.

u recon u could add a Panderan in there sum where? like an extra class; 'Panderan Hermit'

Dungeons are also pretty original -.- (thats a joke, <- incase u didnt notice)

ur story line is good, just develope it a bit more, and wat is this 'south-west-island'? u mention it once, u could make it they are loyal soldiers to the king, sent on the ultimate quest to retrive ............. (his son, an artifact, the head of the bandit leader, seek the help of the elves, etc, etc).

and one more thing, if ur gonna hav 2 spell boxes, then it may be hard to keep switching, try having one for passive(and auto) and one for active, that might b a bit better

well thats all i got to say, hope to see sum terrain improvements!

EDIT: ur maps gonna be 192x192?

Okay dudes, stop thinking of imba-terrain. This map is made for gameplay only. Do you think it's better to wait 5 minutes until you have a map or just download it in 20 seconds? Ingame, the terrain looks decent, so i'm not gonna pimp it up until the map is done and all the gameplay is set.

I think this is the best way to create a map, terrain can be done whenever you want, but the gameplay is important.

The races are special by their skills, not by their names. I don't like having unique names and classes so the noob players might not find the class they want to play.

Thanks to all the comments. :)

Good terrain has pretty much no relation to download size. Adds less than 100kb, even including a few small models.

Your terrain isn't very smooth looking, especially in the shot with the Murlocs and the one right after it. I also see some floating trees... Sort of picky, but having a nice terrain is important. I'm not saying you need "imba" terrain. Or that you need to fix the terrain right now. You just need to pay attention to the small details in the terrain.

I could help you with your terrain, look at Thunder's Dark Chants screenshots for further proof (also I added custom models and lots of stuff, only added 60kb :))

The bad thing is about terrain is when you over do it. though basic pathing terrain etc. needs to be done first

yeah good point about the gameplay, but rnt RPG's supposed to be all 'pretty' and stuff?
so wat ur doing is making a super simple map that is noob friendly?
well then in that case u should make a 'pro' version with pretty terrain and same load/save codes, and fancy names and all that jazz, so u noob it up with noob version, then pro it up with pro version.
hav max lvl for noob version lvl 20 or sumfing then max lvl for pro verion 100, noob version could be training place, such as the 'south-west-island'

i just dont like the idea of this super simple '20 second' dl map...
