Is it possible to use the Defend ability to reduce damage from non pierce or spell sources? If so, a small example or process explanation would be very helpful. I can find nothing in either the ability itself, any variations on it, or gameplay constants. I am interested in selected reduction from certain types of damage, siege, normal, chaos...ect. General damage reduction, such as spiked carapace, will not suffice. |

No, I don't think so. |

You can use the Armor Detection System to get the attack type of a unit I believe. This way you can trigger some form of damage prevention. |

You should be able to use the Spellbreakers "Magic Defence" for the spelldamage. |

My mistake, I know you can do the same thing with defend. Non pierce or spell means non pierce or non spell damage, as both of those are covered in existing abilities. I will check out the Armor Detection system, it has possibilites. |
