The dreaded 'Aloc' ...

I heard Taur say that once you add Locust('Aloc') you can't properly remove it? What does that mean?

If I don't give them 'Aloc' via triggers, will I be able to "remove them properly"?

Also, I want to know every shit/bug Locust causes. I just want to know what to avoid doing.

You can remove it, but it has permanent aftereffects on the unit you added it to.

You would have to remove it, then hide/unhide the unit.
The aftereffect includes no selection circle and selecting the unit becomes really weird.
Give it a try if you're really interested.

You could have also searched "locust" or "aloc" and gotten a lot of info.
The biggest issue that comes to mind is that GroupEnumUnitsIn...() calls don't always pick them up.
Though in some cases they do, it's not 100% reliable in any case.

EDIT:
I want to emphasize that the locust ability is one of the best things Blizzard ever gave WC3 mappers.
It is in no way "dreaded" or something to avoid, you should embrace and use it.

I think it is a bless GroupEnumUnits natives don't pick them I just wish they didn't trigger region events.

Whoops, sorry I forgot to use the uber search tool

Anyways, thanks again :D I'm giving it a shot to see what happens.

I also recall some people saying you should hide, remove 'aloc' and then unhide for better effects. So best to play around with your options, just in case. I think pausing and unpausing was supposed to remove some other side effects.

So pause, hide, remove, unpause, unhide?
