Removing status icon or a channeling ability that does not put an icon on enemy

I need one of two things.

A channeling spell that does not put a status icon on the target. I tried using lifedrain but it has this green animation that i cannot remove no matter wat i tried.I need it removed. The spell is suppose to be a silent spell

I tried shackles but no matter what i do I cannot remove the damn shackles icon from the status [the bottom part] of the target unit.

I need the spell to be channeling . I tried a casting spell like a dummy deathcoil but it was no good cause I cant find a way for triggers to take effect while it is casting. A unit begins casting a spell does not trigger when stormbolt is casting, it triggers when stormbolt has been casted.

Please tell me how to do this,ty

Are you sure that Life Drain doesn't work? Did you try getting rid of the 'Art - Lightning' field?

For future reference, the "status" icon you are speaking of is actually a buff. But I know what you mean none the less. You could always base the ability off of the custom ability, Channel. You would have to do quite a bit of editing with it but it should work. Good luck I hope anything I said was helpful.

I tried using the channel ability.It doesnt even show up on the hero rofl.
hmm i think i tried the lightning field already. It still has this green glowing thing that i cant seem to get rid of. Will try again later

Export the lightning file for Life Drain, edit it to make it invisible (alphaed out), re-import and use as a custom lightning effect?

I don't even know if you can do that. If you can't, you could always overwrite the Life Drain path.

If you want to use channel, kindly check the 'Visible' under the 'Options' in it's data field. 'Follow through time' is how long it can be channeled, 'Disable Other Abilities' if true it will completely black out your command card.

Oh forgot to say,i solve it by editing the .txt file.Finally found the thread for it after a good amount of searching. Thanks for the help

For future reference, you need to look through all of the values (or read a tutorial) on the 'Channel' ability. It has a 'visible' tick on it that is very essential, because if it is not ticked (true) it won't show up, as you experienced.
