Rep System

How come people with low rep like me give out only 1 rep to others? Shouldn't we be able to decide how many rep we want to give to someone if they did an outstanding job? It's a shame that someone who helped you very much only got a measley 1 rep because you have little to no rep at all.

I say give everyone the freedom to decide how many rep to give, like give as an option to give 1 - 4 rep to a person.

I can't spam rep 1 point at a time, and I can't even give the person the amount of rep he deserves.

Your reputation is low, therefore no one cares about what you think about other people, so what makes you think you should be able to boost other people's reputation by a lot?

Reputation has nothing to do with worth, but of its perception. It isn't fair, and never will be, nor is it intended to be so. Reputation is by its very nature unfair.

Then why is there rep at all? Just for showing off you got 5 green blocks?

There's no such thing as five green blocks, after four green blocks comes one blue.


And rep encourages people to be nice to people and improve their art and stuff. that is the purpose of rep.

When olof gives rep in a forum he doesn't moderate he just gives 4 rep, points, thus impressing a popular being is worth 4 times impressing a new guy.

I think it is kind of fair, if you want to improve your situation get more rep.

I love the rep system.
If it weren't for rep, I wouldn't get half the artistic help with my maps that I do. xD

Really, anyone that says rep is useless is dead wrong.
It immediately gives new people an idea of who is helpful and who is not.
Besides, it's pretty.

It's also a good lil' thing as a reward for contests or helping out, etc.
Keeps people in a good mood, and gives you a reason to not be a dick unless you want to lose it.
