There's a skin importing tutorial in the tutorials section, use it. |

Vexorian : There's a skin importing tutorial in the tutorials section, use it. Don't i need to "unwrap" it or something? And Im a dumb ass, I dont even know how to import a model from a website, sigh.... |

Import the skin using the Import Manager and double-click the resource. In the dialogue window that opens tick the "Use custom path". In this box you need to type the path of the skin you want to replace. I.e if you wanted to re-skin Arthas you would type the path for Arthas' skin. To get the path, use an MPQ editor. |

DALE!NBLACK : And where do I find a "MPQ editor"? |
| 05-18-2007, 01:43 PM | #10 |
From this site, or the Hive Workshop. http://www.wc3campaigns.net/showthread.php?t=85816 for Windows. http://hiveworkshop.com/resources_new/tools/343/ for Mac. I think you mentioned some Windows software, so the top one should work for you. It's the thing you use to extract the texture to begin with. Btw, can you post an export JPG of your skin? |

Warcraft 3 Viewer is also fine for finding the paths. |

Aye, oh, and I forgot to add that you must 'restart WE for the changes to take effect'. |

dont bother with the MPQ editor. After you saved the .BLP you were able to see the tauren chieften model skinned oyur way in the viewer, correct? if so then whatever the path you saved it to is the path. example: if I do a skin for the forest troll, I save the .blp to C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Units\Creeps\ForestTroll when I upload the skin into the world editor I use the uploader in the editor and change the listed path to Units\Creeps\ForestTroll |

But what path is it for my tauren then? units\orc\HeroTaurenChieftain\HeroTaurenChieftain is that the right one then? And one more thing: Is there a tutorial for the MPQ editor? |

the path is textures\HeroTaurenChieftain make sure that is where the file is located on your hard drive when you try to upload it. |
