(Item) Ability that would decrease stats

Are the abilities, that does the opposite of Item Stat Bonus?
Like, I tried to put in negative values, but that wouldn't work.
And I also know that I could do it with triggers, just asking thought coz I'm lazy >/.

Shift-click. Change stats to negative. ???. Profit.

I never found a way to do that without triggers, but that was a long while back.
