Dragon WIP

Well, you know me. Dragons + me = ... can't really explain, really.

Some of you may have seen some of my drawings for my campaign, over in the art gallery here.

Well, since the current models I'm using for my campaign are WoW models, and you guys hate WoW models, I've decided to make my own.

This is just a WIP so far. No, I have not done the back legs yet.

I'm gonna do the anims by myself too, and it's going to have quite a few cinematic-only anims, if you get what I mean.

Just two quick questions though. Is it possible to play a unit's anim via triggers if the anim on the model is called "eat food" or something? Or do they all have to be things like "Attack Upgrade First Alternate" or whatever?

Also, how do I add more vertices to the foot? The cylinder was 6-sided, but I want the foot to have toes. Can I just add more vertices to the foot or do I have to add more cylinders?

I don't think you'd have problems animating it with triggers like that.

The legs could to with an extra polygon or two to make it look more like it's am actual part of the body rather than just an attachment.

I'M IN UR THREAD, MAKIN COMMENTZ.

The back legs are not attached yet, FYI.

Yes. Is this for Warcraft then?

You could lose dozens of polygons across the body, unless you're aiming for some very realistic tail animations.

Yeah, I'm going to weld a few here and there, but I'm working on the legs ATM.

I think it could use a more robust body and shoulders. Do you have any particular concept?

Just some design questions; don't you think the body and back legs are too thin?

Good ideas. Dad's making me get off now >_<

Think about its underlying skeleton and consider that he needs ribs (to house organs/heart) and enough bulk to house fore-legs and wing joints on its torso.

The knees are pointing in the wrong direction.

That's a mammalian skull, how stupid.

Olof, dragons don't exist.

Besides, the skeleton could be a Manticore, it just fits the situation well.

Does't animals with that long neck have ribs on it?

ribs are used to protect and hold important stuff like the heart and lungs. what stuff do you have in your neck so important that needs that much protection? It will have heavy duty plates on the neck and belly anyway. And ribs don't really have any other structural importance other than that, he will have muscles strong enough to hold the neck.
