The Harrowed Dawn

Hi all,

I just finished making the first map in a single player campaign I am working on, "The Harrowed Dawn", so I thought I would share it with you guys, and get some feedback. I don't know if I should be posting in this forum or the map testing forum, but I thought probably here since it is specifcally a campaign map, apologies if I was wrong. Anyway, I have tried to create a mix of the feel from the original Warcraft III single player campaigns, with elements of an RPG added, such as a spellbook, party system and so on.

The story involves a young warrior returning from a long hunting trip in the wilderness, with empty traps and a heavy heart. When he reaches the walls of his home village he learns that in his absence a band of travelling mercenaries set up camp near the village, and have been harrassing and threatening the people. Since he is the strongest, bravest warrior in the village, our hero is soon asked to go and deal with them, but when he confronts their leader he soon finds himself getting unwillingly caught up in their business...

Anyway, the first map is finished (maps 2 and 3 are WIPs), and I will upload it here, so if you guys would like to test it please do as I would like some feedback. I'm afraid it's probably nothing spectacular as I am by no means an expert map maker, but I have spent a while on it, and I for one am pleased with it

There aren't many cool features to the first map as I am implementing new features as the campaign progresses, and the only cool things in the first one would be the spell book and the hero stat system thingy I guess. Also, there is currently only one spell available and only a few items in the shop, this is because I am thinking of ideas for more.

I also included some screenshots

EDIT: I thought I'd list a few features I have included in maps 2 an 3 (WIPs) and things I hope to include in future maps

-Reputation and alignment systems
-Units into heroes experience system
-Party upkeep system (i.e. paying members for each map they are in your party, each creep they kill and so on, hired troops randomly leaving and so on)
-Item trading in cities and towns

Thanks. AtOmIc_PeAnUt

Terrain could use a bit of work.
