ive edited the uther skin, and painted it, with some colors of course, but i didnt painted the alpha channels, after ive edited it
i saved it in targa file
and converted it to blp
changed quality to 80
then i used it on my map
imported it
changed path
apply skin to unit
saved map
closed map
reopen map

but nothing happens....uther still looks the same
then i saved it again and try to test the map
but still not working

so? how to make it work?
im really noob at skinning...

If the skin hasn't changed, you have the wrong filepath.

my path for my uther skin is the path used by uther itself and just replaced mdl to blp......and i changed uther's path to the path i wrote on the skin

and another question

where should i know the path for each skin?
does WE ignores path with capital letters?
like this:
Units/Human/Uther/Uther.blp
units/human/uther/uther.blp
which is right?

1. Look around the forum, that question have been answered thousands of times.
2. You have to use the caps correctly or the WE won´t recognize the skin. And the path is "units\Human\Uther\Uther.blp"

ok ok ill search for it...
i remembered that i had red a skinning tut saying, to find the path of the skin u used, just follow the folders on where the skin is...

maybe ill try that...

its the path im reffering, if u check a unit's path theres a .mdl extension at the bottom, then thats what i changed to .blp....

That doesn't always work. Just look at the model's texture paths..

get Magos' model editor (I guess you can find it looking for tools here in wc3c), open up the mpq manager and look for the uther skin, the path will be the folders u've opened till finding the skin file.
for example, units\Human\Uther\Uther.blp means that the uther skin is inside the Uther folder, wich is inside the Human one, wich is inside the units one.
Hope that clarifies everything...

well that is the path im using, but when i applied the skin to uther in magos model editor, the cape turns white, like no colors, maybe its because the alpha channels, because i didnt applied it before saving and exiting adobe...
