I haven't been able to export an MDX from gmax, of course. Can anyone tell me how I might get a model into the game? (Without paying 3500 dollars or whatever 3dsmax costs...) |

Thought it was suposed to be for game editing. If you cant export than htf are you supposed to edit a game? We know its free but it is advertized as a useful product not just a sample. This makes the thing sound totaly useless. We havent tried it yet but we where planning on it. Since we arnt planning on geting 3dsmax why should we bother with what ammounts to a useless sample program? |

Anybody that said it was free was basically incorrect. In order for gmax to be usefull to edit a game, the developer of the game has to pay for a license then create a plugin for gmax to be able to export to whatever format their game uses. Then any owner of the game can download the plugin and use gmax to make mods. So its free for the users IF and only IF the developer pays for it. |

http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...&threadid=8868 I explain how to export into MD3 using the tempest game pak which is free, but haven't found anything that will convert from MD3 to MDX or MDL(WC3 MDL) correctly :(, about to give up(start editing UT2003 enstead) unless I get more info on the MDX standard. |
