Base Skins

I like the idea of skinning, even though I wanted to be a "1337_h4x0r" triggering person myself, problem is, due to my system (Mac), I cannot use WC3Viewer, WC3Extrator or any of those things.

Is there any other way I can get base skins (i.e unit skins) so that I can retexture them?

At any cost, I would like a solution OTHER than having to get somebody else's skin and editing that.
