This has nothing to do with the Transmundane from AotZ.

Yea yea, I made another fucking texture. Just another DotM wannabe :p

Well actually I didn't made this to be a DotM wannabe, I just did it to kill time while I was DLing TDR's video tut on 56k, took about 4 hours. That's why you'll notice the face, hair, eyebrows and ears are all recolors.

The armors, however, aren't. I think I improved alot with metal texturing, and I feel safe enough to say that I made a not-too-shabby skin.

Here it is :

Nevermind the green lantern DH behind, this is about teh transmundane haxal

Anywho, I need some advice on what to do with the face and hair :D

I'll have to agree with whitehorn there. Even though it is a lame shot, i can still see its poor.

You want 'advice' on skinning the face? There's dozens of tutorials of how to paint. We're not going to tell you what it should look like because:

1. It's your skin.
2. It's a Blood Mage (for the hundredth time)
3. You haven't even given us a concept that you're aiming for. Other than 'stick moons on it'.

It looks about 20 minutes work, so its not worth commenting on. Come back when you have something worth talking about.

How to: make a decent "posed" shot

Step by Step:
  • Open up the Warcraft 3 Viewer (for instance)
    • Open the respective model with the Treeview (CTRL+H) under MDX files
    • Click on Current File | Remap Textures (CTRL+M) and select the suitable texture and click on Change, then browse through your files and select a new texture for the model.
  • Change the animation, glow color, background etc. to whatever you like (make sure that the modifications you did is noticable and that the angle is decent) and take a screenshot - the PrtScn button on your keyboard.
  • Open up your image editing program (like Photoshop) and type CTRL+N shortly thereafter you type CTRL+V (this will paste the screenshot onto the new document)
  • Crop out the texture (we dont need to see a 1280 x 1024 pixel dimension image if the image could might as well be sized down to a 400 px x 400 px)
Remember to only crop out things that are relevant.
[Optional] Cut out the current background & replace it with a spiced-up background, perhaps give the image borders, add a title or other relevant information regarding the texture.
  • Save the image and showcase it to the public.
If you want constructive criticism you'll need to showcase your work properly.

Also this is a good tutorial on how to pose a skin

A. Make a good skin based on AN ORIGINAL IDEA, NOT AN EXISTING SKIN
B. Do more on the skin than add some half-ass armor job
C. Post it on here for crits
D. Change accordingly
E. When skin is complete, see above post
