thats probably a protection for the map ... i'm thinking about the "External source" protection ... if u say he gave u the files .... the map works by opening the files from a source so the files he gave u with the map MUST be on the same adress for example - when he made the map the files were located at "C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Maps\Dday\FILES" to open that map you must have the files stored in the same adress ... now Quote:
GOOD LUCK |

hmm it have sense, i will search around trigers to find where map search for external data as i remember other guy made that protection long long time ago, i will have to contact him... hmm do u have idea where in trigers should i look for one for protection? |

Well its not a trigger option ... you set that option here : When u open world editor: Scenario->Map Preferences->Last row is "External Custom Data Source" and under it u have "Chose File" it should write near it the correct address it usually looks for Object data files. |

Isn't that a corruption in the MPQ header... in other words, a form of protection? I am sorry if that's breaking any of the rules... As far as I know, you can't salvage that file until you can fix that header... |

hmm @skorpion i have files like this ![]() but i cant target them on way as u said :( @tide-arc ephemera it is kinda protection (i didnt got what is breaking rules here :( ) what u said about fixing header ?? |

It's against the rules to discuss map protection and unprotection. Anyway, I do not know how to unscramble MPQ headers, maybe ask somebody else. All I know is that it can be scrambled and unscrambled. |

Imagine people scheming and plotting to rip a map and release it as a rigged, cheated and hacked version. |

The reason does not matter. Map De-Protection is NOT allowed. |
