Is there any way that a unit can completely act like a summoned unit? This includes, color, summoned status, the blue command icon and Group Select? As of now, I have a spell that creates a unit, changes the color only for the player, gives it summoned status, and removes the food usage. What is lacking is the group select functionality and the group select blue icon (summoned units can not be groups with a double-click on the original units). This is part of my spell for the Spell Making Session 9. I tried using a modified mirror image to create the summons, which worked fine except for the fact the units which the ability effected required the dummy ability to be active on their command card. If I tried to remove the ability after, the summons would disappear. Any help or ideas are appreciated. |

Sigh... sometimes I wish I played melee games so I could see all the different items... + rep to you. Edit: 1 other problem... It seems summoned units cannot have their color vertex modified... (includes transparency). Any way I can mimic it? (I was using it to fade them out before they died). |

When the unit dies, create alot of units with animation speed of 0% and slightly different coloration/translucency to the last, then remove them 0.01 seconds after. Like give them 0.01 second life spans, and then remove them afterwards. But that'd only be for a death animation. As far as I know, you can mess with a units transparency. |

That won't work since the units are still alive but "fade out" until they are nothing, then they die. The units can still attack and function normally. |

If you can't change a summoned unit's tint to what you want, I guess you have no other choice than to make it a death animation. *EDIT - Try playing around with permanent invisibility. |
