The Grim Reaper (Hero Unit) Made by: Dan van Ohllus Character info: The famous Grim Reaper (aka Death) who makes the appearence in various novels, stories, movies, games and cartoons. For more info, take a look in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_(personification) Model info: Based on Kel'Thuzad Necromancer model. Acolyte hood, Skeleton head added and are adjusted so the model does not walk like an old man. Scythe is made from scratch. Decay animation is replaced into Dissapate (Undead version) so the model can be used as a hero unit. Spell Throw animation can be used when the reaper uses some kind of a teleport ability, similar to Warden's Blink spell. The model does not use any custom textures, meaning no required paths. GIVE ME CREDITS IF YOU USE THIS MODEL IN YOUR MAP!!! Feel free to edit this resource for your projects as long as you credit me for the resource you based it from, so please disregard the outdated permission part in the readme file. Enjoy! ;) Disabled icons should be inserted into this path to work correctly: ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\*insert disabled icon here* MDX files can have any path. |

Nice, but a few things wrong: 1- That robe texture is nasty. I'm sure you can find something better. 2- The teamcolor parts should be less apparent, but again this is about the skin. 3- Usually I imagine Death as a guy in total black robes and a face hiddeon under a hood, with the robe's ends slightly ripped apart. Oh, and some nice black clous at its feet. This is more of a skeleton mage... |

The rope would do much better without team color, I think. The hero glow is sufficient for distinguishing teams. |

remembering that this IS warcraft.. generally team colour helps.. IF you have a problem with it.. make his team colour back and stop bitching.. IMO.. its a brilliant job on your part DvO.. i cant look at the animations cause i no longer have warcraft III installed.. but im sure they are good :) |

Hey, Dan, I recommend using a texture from the Arthas/Illidan Cinematic fight. |

I think the style is fine, it fits wc3, makes me want to make a Grim Reaper of my own though, but in a completely different style. Anyhow... ~Approved~ |

The huge hero glow is hideous. |

Absolutely hidious display picture. The background distracts horribly from the model. Not that the model is anything to show off, it does in no way look like a hero or death, it looks like some measely minion. I really, really dont know how olof got it into his thick skull to approve this terribly easy model, but since he has i'll leave it here, it'd be kind of awkward to remove it now. But please, for the love of christ, try to make something good out of this. |

A nicely made model. |

@olofmoleman: Then feel free to do so, olof. Your version will probably be better than mine for sure. =) @General Frank: I'll check on that, and hopefully some of them will fit as new robes. @FinalTyrant & DD_Draco: I'll fix the glow when I have the time to fix give the model some new wraps. @erwt: Well, you may at least move it into somekind of a WIP section or a model gallery for the moment. |

Here are some suggestions. It's beyond me how people who are capable of producing new models/model edits cannot ever seem to get the hero glow right. First off, (already stated) the hero glow around him is too big, make it smaller and make it layered like it already is for ALL original Wc3 heroes, so it actually makes a bit of a "dome" appearance around his robe. Then add some glow to his scythe, you can barely see the scythe. There HAS to be emphasize on the weapon of a hero. Do more to the texture too, a plain black robe does not look like something a hero would wear. |

I like it, works perfectly for a normal unit (just have to remove the glow). ![]() |

Only a very small update, but I've removed the glow and the psychadelic background is gone. I've tested adding a glow on the scythe, but it looked very ugly. If people want glow on this model, they have to use a seperate glow model on the reaper via attachments. Since the Necromancer's model wrap is horrible, I think it's better if I make a Reaper model from scratch instead of model edits. But that will have to wait, because I'm working on my Bowser model. |

A Bowser? Ah while you'r at it, make some Mario doodads too. You know like the pipes or those domed cylinder-like tall hills with eyes? No Mario world is complete without them :D |
