I was wondering how you would make a spell thats like starfall except it rains down shadow strikes at enemy units. Thanks :]

You would have to trigger the entire starfall effect yourself.

...or get someone to reanimate shadow strike to fall down. Much easier. Won't take up any real space too.

But, Captain Griffen, that would still not provide the Damage-Over-Time Shadow Strike effect that, I assume, AustralianBeast wants.

Here's an interesting solution for you:
  • Create a new dummy unit with Shadow Strike missile as its projectile art
  • Make the dummy deal as much attack damage as the spell should deal to each unit, but change it to "Chaos" damage
  • Change the dummy unit's "Projectile Launch - Z" to the height your shadow strikes should fall from
  • Change the dummy unit's "Projectile Arc" to 0.00 so that it falls straight down
  • Set up triggers to create your starfall effect on each unit as it should, but instead of creating the starfall effect, etc., create one of the above mentioned dummy units at the position of the unit, order it to "Attack once" the unit, and add a 1.00 second expiration timer to the dummy
See if that doesn't do anything for you.

You could also just create dummies, add a 1 expiration timer or something, and give them 300 initial fly height. Create like 10 randomly in the area of the starfall, and make each one go to 0 height over 1 second
every 1 second pick every unit in the area and cast shadow strike on it, the shadow strike should have no missile and 99999 speed though.

how about you just change the spell model to shadow strike and attach the shadow strike buff to the spell... wow... thats so much easier... maybe not as much effective... but so much easier

You have no clue what you're talking about. Your solution would mearly give a dodgy buff (with no SS effect) and a screwed up projectile model.

just take the model, rotate its facing to down, reimport, and trigger the ss effect

That's not what you said (what you've said second time is re-iteration of what had already been established in the first few posts).
