How do you remove the 5 command buttons.

How do you remove the 5 command buttons. (move,attack,patrol,stop,hold position). I want them completely gone. The closest I have come to removing them is to place them all on postion 3,2
Is there another way?

just put something else over them all at (3,2), blank icon, does nothing.
