Terraining Question

I was wondering if there are any combat disadvantages of being on a lower point to the map relative to another unit other than the obvious line of slight block.
Any replies appreciated.

Yes, it is a hardcoded formula that is in warcraft three that units on higher ground deal more damage than units on lower ground... i do not know the exact formula though...

Attacking up an elevation will have a chance to miss, but this isn't hardcoded. This is the first I've heard about a hardcoded damage increase though, has this been proven?

In Island Defense, towers usually attack from higher ground... troll towers deal 100 damage, but more of 60 due to armor reduction. If they dealt extra damage, it would be noticeable because almost all troll bases have 12 towers, around 720 d.p.s with reduction... and they all deal the same amount of damage...

I don't think that's true...

Units attacking uphill have a chance to miss, which can be calibrated in the gameplay constants. Attack damage remains the same in all circumstances.

Blizzard has point blank admitted to their being a coded (or otherwise) relationship between height difference and dmg/acc.

Links or it didn't happen.

I honestly don't believe you, as I've never seen anything to indicate damage being affected by height difference.
