Power of Corruption Brainstorming - Naga Imperial Warrior ultimate

Hi:

I've been all this week trying to develop a good ultimate ability for the Naga Imperial Warrior unit in my project Power of Corruption.

It has now his 3 normal abilities, but now it requires a decent ultimate. This heroe always has suffered for this ability, I've never have been able to find one which makes this hero a good choice, and now that I'm run out of ideas, I beg for your help guys.


Hero theme: Water controller.
Current abilities:

Naga Imperial Warrior skills:
Water burst:The Naga Warrior calls forth the sea, causing it to burst from the ground. Any enemy nearby to an explosion will be injured.

Level 1 - 15 - 30 damage per burst.
Level 2 - 26 - 52 damage per burst.
Level 3 - 48 - 96 damage per burst.
Summon Sea ElemenalSummons a powerful sea elemental to attack your enemies.
Lasts 60 seconds.

Level 1 - 450 hit points, 17 to 20 damage.
Level 2 - 550 hit points, 21 to 27 damage, has Bash.
Level 3 - 750 hit points, 30 to 38 damage, has Bash and Evasion.
FreezeFreezes a target enemy unit so that it cannot move or cast spells. Air units that are frozen fall to the ground and can be attacked as though they were land units.

Level 1 - Freezes for 7 seconds.
Level 2 - Freezes for 10 seconds.
Level 3 - Freezes for 13 seconds.

I never liked how they gave tough warriors water magic, when the females seem to be more suited for that role.

So you have an AOE, immobilise and summon.

Maybe he could draw water from nearby units & trees, creating a large sphere unto himself and then launching or detonating it. Alternatively, he could freeze it and create an icy barrier.

Or keep the water gaseus, make it hot, some kind of steam effect, ignoring armour. Or have it render a group unconcious (sleep), aoe. Literally sucking the air from their lungs.

I agree with you Whitehorn, and is for that reason that female Naga have skills more supportive and magical than male ones. The idea with this hero is to make it a good tank hero, with powerful but not abusable skills.

These abilities sound good to me, but for an ultimate I'm not sure.

I was thinking about that this evening and I had this idea:

First ability: Defensive (the barrier ability)
Second ability: Offensive (Water burst)
Third ability: Capture (Freeze)
Ultimate: Full water control (Super Sea Elemental entity thingy)

The last one could be a to summon a powerful sea elemental which improves the nearby allied naga units, by its water essence, all nearby units will have increased health regeneration)

What do you think???

If he's a tank, I'm not sure if a summon is appropriate. It kinda detracts from him being a meatshield if he can summon cannon fodder. If he's a crowd controller or pusher (whatever crazy terms people use) then that's ok.

As a tank he'd want:
Damage mitigation (currently his cannon fodder summon), though I think some form of water shield would be cool.
Hamstring/immobilise effects to control loose creeps (currenty freeze).

If you threw in an ice barrier as a basic skill, you could do some kind of offensive ultimate that relates to his job.

Perhaps a 'tidal wave' effect, summoning a great burst of water, upon which he rides into the meleé, pushing initial enemy units back until he lands at his target point and doing a low, wide aoe damage effect. Maybe a very brief stun upon conclusion for non-heroes too.

Tide-Arc Ephemera
Tsunami Destructor - Channels into water magic for 6 seconds, and then unleashes a mighty wave of saturating waters, pushing all units out, dealing X damage for each second channeled and slows each target by 15%.

*optional*Units that are saturated and targeted by Freeze will take Y damage and get frozen for Z extra seconds

Pleh, didn't read too much into what's been said, but that's my contribution.

Natural Punishment

A light rain surrounds the hero as he channels this ability. The rain covers all enemy units in the area in acid which deals damage over time and decreases the armor of units slightly. Any organic unit that dies with the acid buff on them spawn a weak water creature. Acid rain also instantly kills any mechanical unit.

I second Tide-Arc's idea. That's cool.

Or how about a Flood Coffin? It would create 5 towers of water that have a devour-like ability, the would be called Drown. It would slowly drown all consumed units, unless the coffins are destroyed first. Forzen units die 1.5 times faster.
