two runes I made recently that no one bothers to see... I guess I'll discontinue the runes thread since no one looks in there anyway... btw, these aren't finished and have a little bit of work left for them to be done. |

You should make them available, I'd like to have them |

Nah the runes are great, should release them if you can. |

These runes are too bright for warcraft. :( I wonder if someone can touch up on them and make them less bright so they are more suitable as textures than mere pictures. |

They look wonderful except the fact that yes, they are indeed a bit bright. Usually such textures are black and white (or grayscale), as I can remember (well, most of them... so you can change the color however you want). Why not make the texture, and apply it to an additive plane? Then add color as well and voila, with some extra animations you have your aura. :) -Mihai |

Yes... that would work very well... I so want this! ![]() |

actuallu, the texture will look terribly dull and lack shading. It's hard to tell from your view but there are more than 3 colors used for ths rune. And it's really bright cuz i put like 6 layers of the same thing on top of each other o.o I'll release these soon but they will be very bright. I'll also make a greyscaled version in case anyone wants to change their color. And btw, these textures are supposed to be colored just like vampire aura and any other colored rune. They're not meant to be grayscaled and recolored. Grayscale runes are much simpler and complex ones like these deserve to have color =x |

Try this as an additive material to a plane surface... I believe brightness can be boosted by duplicated interlaced planes, and faded by reducing the transparency of the plane. I can't remember exactly how the other runes looked like, but I'm sure this looks similar to them. I am also perfectly aware of the three colors on the blue rune (on the other, they are barely noticeable...), and moreover, if you are not pleased with a single color, you can try making multiple runes in different textures, and placing them across the aura (e.g.: the wings, the circles with crosses, the base grand circle, and the cross in the middle). I am also aware that texture size will increase by having multiple textures, but on the other hand blps have an amazing compression... Fewer elements can also be used you know. And lastly, I am now but a shadow of what you could become, due to your amazing skills in texturing. I was, am, and probably will never be capable of drawing such fantastic runes. I never used custom textures not because they consumed size (though I almost always claimed that, as a reason in order to hide my weakness) but in truth because I was never capable of drawing and sketching stuff. And no Celestea, I am not actually back to modding. I modified the attached image with photoshop. I have no warcraft related programs on my computer anymore (let it be Warcraft III, World Editor or Art Tools) in order not to be tempted to return. My efforts need to be channeled somewhere else now... Jet, good luck with improving your skills. You are becoming greater and greater with every new SFX. I respect your evolution. -Mihai |

what you said is not true, you were always better at making models. I'm just a novice who knows a very limited knowledge in modelling. Thus, I can't make anything before due to lack of inspiration and lack of knowledge in modelling. i wish you would continue your awesome fx. |

Just curious... did you use a graphic tablet or scanned the images? Because these look to me like they clearly were not made with the mouse. Too complex! :) -Mihai |

neither scanned nor drawn with a tablet. i wish i had a tablet ><. I used mouse on all of them ._. I just draw a background layer with a ton of guidelines and guiding dots to draw the shapes i want. I use paint shop pro and i basically connect the dots xD. yeah... takes a freakin long time >_> |

You takes too much time, but at the end you obtain a good result, which is the most important thing. I haven't had much time to give my opinion (PoC 2.0 is controlling my life at the moment), but this rune has potential, why don't you post this fx, so we can see by ourselves how shiny is, and probably we can help to improve it in some way. Don't forget we estimate you so much, please keep the good work :) |

it hasn't been turned into an fx yet, neither has any of the runes i've made so far. i really want to but i don't draw the runes in prefect proportions like professional wc3 artists do -_- so the resulting runes i draw look very off and out of proportion compared to wc3's runes. my runes' circles are freakin ovals lol. hmm, ill try to make them less bright and more suitable as wc3 textures now that im finally done with SUMMER SCHOOL! :S |
