TDR
looks like every "first model" I've seen, nothing more nothing less.

And do you have any ideas how to improve it?

Yeah, learn how to model. And I mean real modeling, not model editing like taking chunks from a model and putting it on another one. Geomerging will only limit you to wc3.
Also before asking for any advice at all, search around, and by around I don't mean only this site, to problems similar to yours and see what answers others got to the same problem. If you don't find anything or if you want a more in-depth answer, then ask (but mention that you've been looking around). Also look at how other people's works were critiqued and learn from that. After you learned more and have a strong foundation of knowledge, then you can truly post something worth watching.

I only need modeling for wc3. This is not the art gallery for that what you call "real modeling". It is for model editing (that what I did). I think it still requires skill to decide which parts are matching good and which dont. Thats why i think it can look cool inspite of being simple and that it can still be worth watching. What i asked you was how to improve this.

Sorry if i was busy or wasted your time with this. It is cool for my purposes.

Well, the problem is that since you directly used blizzies stuff it looks like a single geoset merge more... why not trying to make him look original (still model editing), if you learn how to change the unwrap then you certainly can make really nice stuff without the need of a new program. This is mostly an unmounted raider (which is still somewhat useful)

But why not adding some stuff, moving some vertices to change the general shape (so it doesn't look like a rider) using a less typical hat and putting a wooden shield. (and maybe another cape, because that cape doesn't look orcish at all)

The third picture looks....odd.

Yes i will try to do a liddle bit more. :D I was happy when I managed making this work at all.

I did a liddle bit uv-mapping at the cape. But your right, it is not really orcish. I took it cause the colors matched with the shield and i didnt find a better texture. I am also very inexperienced in the usage of the tools. I used oinkerwinkles, magos and this russian tool where i have to guess what the buttons do. xD

Very nice first model!

Again, I would suggest getting a cape that is less, Blood elf-like and a better shield. Also, as been said, change around the helmet, or, for an extra challenge, so you can learn, make a new helmet. It wont be very good, or probably wont, because its your first, but it will get people like TDR off your back and it will make it all the more special.

Remember Dojo, don't listen to people who's constructive crit is only "You suck!"... If its your first, then that means that its your first try and shouldn't be a work of art. In fact, its better if its bad then good, because you can learn form the mistakes, look at it, take it back and work on it.

Ive seen to many good modelers and artists fail because of people screaming at them.
