Reason For Creation The problem with most of the hero arenas played on battle.net is that, frankly they suck. Terrain is bland and boring, the creeps are just fodder, no startegy is involved, no custom skills are used (or custom anything for that matter), and the heroes are just a random collection of skills. This hero arena aims to be different. The heroes will not be extremely powerful either: No 3k damage crits, insta kill ults, crazy strong items, or imbalanced heroes (i hope :P). Backstory (needs improvement) The God's frequently use mortal creatures for their amusement, twisting and manipulating their lives for sadistic pleasure. Therefore, they have gathered some of the most famous and infamous mortals from around the multiverse, and arranged them in two teams. The teams are competing in one of the oldest and most sacred locations ever: The Garden of Eden. They will be engaged in a race to see who can kill the Snake of Sin first. Because the gods do not want this tournament to end quickly, the gods bring them back to life when they die. However, if the team collectively dies to much, the god will refuse to revive them and they wil be defeated. The winning team will be showered in glory and riches, for themselves and their homeworlds, while the losers shall be sentenced to suffer an eternity in hell. Gameplay Originally, this map was going to be item build focused (like dota), where what items you bought made or broke your hero. However, i've decided that items will not be nearly as strong (although still significant), but rather the focus will be on individual skill. While teamwork is of course beneficial, heroes killing solo will be possible. The only time when teamwork is necessary to win, is when you are killing the Snake (needs a better name >_<). 2 separate types of victory conditions adds strategy to the game, since whichever one you decide to go will affect your gameplay. Also, if your team underestimates is ability to kill the Snake, the other team can fight him (only 1 team can be fighting him at a time, but the other team can come in if the whole team dies), and still win. Features: -Lots of unique and triggered spells (thanks to here & the hive). My goal is no more then 1 standard blizzard spell per hero -8 elemental minibosses, Each boss drops an extremely powerful and unique item. -1v1 Dueling (You can challenge your enemies to a 1v1 duel, but only if they accept) -Team duels that occur regularly -Detailed tooltips (bad tooltips = my pet peeve) -Unique Favor system, detailed below So if you like reading the story you can, but if not you can skip straight to the important information -Unique creep respawn system (not really, but only 1 other map uses it :P) -Custom models, skins, and sounds, although not enough to make it unplayable on bnet. Progress Duel system-90% Regular timed duels are 100% working. 1v1 duels system is implemented, but hasn't been tested (but since its based of the other duel system which works, it should) Creep Respawn-100% It's done. Numbers will need to be altered once i put in heroes, but thats easy. Multiboard-95% It's working, but for some reason it messes up when displaying the deaths column. Favor system- 85% I have all the gods listed, and the favor system it self is set up. I just need to get it to actually give bonuses :p. Items-10% I have a long list of items, I'll put them in after i finish the basic systems. Heros-5% I'm getting there, 4 heroes currently planned out. Misc features-100% Text commands: Camera movements -ma (matchup), -ms (movespeed), Let me know if you think of anymore that i could put in. Player leaving (Shares gold, hero, and favor) Terrain-0% Need a terrainer.Currently working on: Favor system. |
