Hey Guys,

My friend and I (my friend is DoOs_101) are working on this really cool map. It is called Azeroth Goldrush Tournament. It is really cool, but we are still working on it, and making new versions. There is now an AI version which recently came out, so if you want to try it out single player add a few computers and have fun!

Azeroth Goldrush Tournament hosted by clancbs@northrend
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Goldmining:
--------------------------------
Battle under the midst of a Sacred Goldmine below the depths of mount Haru'lgrim. Bestow upon three ancient Dwarven classes, the Warlock, the Mortar, and the Rifleman. Learn to love them. They are devastating, they are the commander of a force, so greed of Gold that in the Alliance was formed an unstopable feud. A feud which lasted for decades, a feud which greeds only for power and more Gold. Behold and witness the wars of the Dwarven Goldminers in the everlasting game of Goldrush.

Features:
--------------------------------
The first unique way to gather gold resources. In the depths of mount Haru'lgrim lies abandoned Mine carts filled with rich coins. Assign Goldminers to these Mine carts by setting the rally point of your base town hall to the Mine cart's position. The Goldminers will automatically harvest the coins and return it to a gold stash inside your force's base.
Why use this system? Simply, the hardcore! Its the strategy and aim of the game, to get a routine of gathering gold at the same time as keeping that routine or accelerating it. Otherwise annoy the enemy to the advantage that you will slow their progress down.

This map has items, and special Mines built for fun. These mines have unique capabilities, such as the Enchanted Nova mine, which explodes ice and slows down the enemy.

This map has unique way of upgrading your Hero and the Goldminers. Upgrades are available at the Townhall.

How to:

(1) Mine

1. Enter chat string (type) townhall
2. Your townhall will be selected automatically, click the townhall's set rally point

3. The game console will force you to select a target, click on any nearby Goldmines (Mine Carts)

4. Select that Goldmine and a clock interface will appear signalling your targeted Mine.

5. Train Goldminers at your townhall and your Goldminers will automatically move to the selected Goldmine. You cannot control the goldminers manually.

(2) Get food?

1. Simple, kill Neutral Creeps and you get a +1 food for every kill you got determined by the last hits.
2. Upgrade/build your class Mastery building to get +12 food (Rifleman: Gunnery - Warlock: Arcane - Mortar: Workshop)

(3) Get gold?

1. Kill creeps, get an average of 20 gold per kill.
2. Kill enemy heroes, get an average of 30 gold per kill + 50 gold for every killing spree (50, 100, 150).
3. Kill enemy Goldminers, get an absolute value of 100 gold per kill.
4. Kill the ancient Doom Bringer, get about 400 - 700 gold.
5. Tax your team's income, the current version has automatic taxing system, next version players can set their tax ranging from 5% - 20%.

How tax system work?
If a goldminer brings a sack of 100 gold to the Gold Stack of your team, each player gets 5-10% of it and the whole team only gets 80 - 95% of it.

Benefit of a low tax,
High rate of team income, low income for each player gives low purchasing power.

Benefit of a high tax,
Low rate of team income, high income for each player gives high purchasing power (can buy more equipments and upgrades).

This is a cup of coffee compatible - a relaxing game, play it like chess

Yeah, well... he's banned. I wouldn't suggest mentioning his name much.

Edit: How do you win, lol?

Mmmkay, so I just played a game with 11 computer players.

I'll give you credit; the AI was pretty good (still a bit stupid sometimes, but hey). The game was actually pretty enjoyable and definitely a good length for a game, but it had 2 major problems:
  • Near the very beginning of the game, my entire team became unallied with our miners. They would spawn as enemies and the AI would just kill them. The final score was 50000 to 2260.
  • The game started off with a fine framerate... but it gradually got worse and worse. By the end of the game, the lag was unbearable. I'm not sure if it was due to memory leaks or the fact that the AI was trying to control too many miners and heroes at the same time, but it was horrendous.
Additionally, here are my other gripes:
  • It was unclear to me whether or not goldminers continually spawned, or if it only spawned 1 when I trained it.
  • The fact that the AI chose heroes before I got to was annoying; you should make the AI choose after a set amount of time.
  • I don't think the AI ever bought items.
  • Sometimes the text on the screen was obscuring
  • I didn't understand that dynamite destroyed the minecart it was used on until I used it; I thought it was going to make the minecart spill gold everywhere.
  • My hero, the Blunderbuss Rifleman, was rather overpowered. 40% to stun and deal bonus damage on a fast attack = extreme. Also, I basically took no damage when fighting against a computer's hero because they wouldn't move out of the smoke bomb cloud.
  • I didn't understand why sometimes I would use my ultimate when ordered to, and sometimes it would start casting and then just stop for no warning (I wasn't being stunned).
  • It was hard to change your tax amount quickly
  • The game didn't end... it just went into cinematic mode and said "congratz" (so to speak). The AI continued to kill each other after the map "ended", and status messages continued to pop up even during the ending scene.
  • There are nub items that cost 100 gold, and then you can upgrade to the über-shop that sells 'spensive items. There's no middle ground.
  • I was more focused on hero-killing than gold collecting (maybe just because of that bug I mentioned).
'tis about all I can think of. Maybe I'd have had a different perspective if I had played with live people...

Thanks a lot for the feedback. Yea, the AI is still a bit stupid, but it is new, and a guy is helping us make a more advanced AI that buys items as well. Just note anyway that DoOs is the main maker of the map, and I just mostly help with spells and testing, so I mostly speak on his behalf.

We will fix that.

Woah, when I think about that, that is stupidly imba. We will nerf it.

I also noted that exact same problem a while ago, but forgot to tell DoOs to fix it.

Im not entirely sure, but I have a bit of a suspicion that a lot of the single target spells have a 0.00 or 0.01 stunning time, so that would probably stop the effects of a channeling ultimate.

Good idea, we will add some 500-800 $ items that people can buy before they want to get their 'uber shop'.

That is what we want in a way (well im not sure about DoOs, but I want it :D). We (or I) want the players to decide whether they want to make their hero really strong and to kill enemies/creeps for gold and to kill the enemies goldminers, or to be able to concentrate on spending their money on massing workers and footguards.

We will fix this, that is a very big bug.

Yea that is because of memory leaks. We will spend lots of time when we are making a near-final version to go through all the triggers removing leaks. I think for the spells I made for the map (most of the triggered ones) I got rid of most of the leaks, but I might have missed a few.

Thanks again pyrogasm.

I'd hope you fix that un-allying bug. :D

I'm willing to play again once you get a new, better version out!

I haven't tried the game, but your first explanation's grammar leaves something to be desired...
I'm guessing that the game is not like this (hopefully). Just pointing it out.
