Don't take screenshots in-game. Simply press the "V" key to switch to "Game-view settings" mode in the World Editor. That will make it loads easier to make screenshots. You need more doodads. Doodads are your friends. Tile variation in the middle of the piece. Why is there an open fire on grass? The footmen and fire look too large for the scene. I do, however, like the buildings at the edge of the scene, and I think the sky goes well. |

ok ty for responce, changed the tile the fire was sitting on to grassy dirt (should it just be dirt), added some more tile variation at some places added some grain scorched into the fire to look like kindling, added some crates around the campsite (you know, to look like provisions) and i left the older screenshot so you can compair |

What is that windmill doing in the river? |
| 08-04-2007, 12:35 AM | #9 |
it's ment to be like a water powered mill |

Waterwheels look NOTHING like windmills. This is more what you need. And, as Pyro said, the units need to be MUCH smaller. Right now, they're almost tree sized. |

Don't put yourself down Tyre, here let me name a few things wrong with his to make you feel better. although there isn't much room for improvement there are at least 4 things you could consider revising. 1. they have a fire, where is their tent? did they just light the fire for fun? 2. How many people build fires during the day? Are these people not trained soldiers? 3. It looks too steep, why would they build a fire on a mountain? 4. It looks like either you scaled the trees up or you used canopy trees. That is a bad idea. Almost always you should scale down because the more you scale up the less realistic it looks. However, if you are using canopy trees it's best to use them in the middle of normal trees because normal trees have leaves nearer the base which gives a more realistic feel... it looks like you only Incorporated one, when you should have Incorporated both. |
