This is a WIP of the the warcraft 2 orcish great. I havent finished and would like some suggestion.

dio, the polycount on that beast is 3k...
camel, thats a private model for DoC.

Almost completely skinning. GMax polycount down to 440. And I havent removed excess polys!

very nice. even the great hall made by redxiii is great, but this is even more wc2 style. ehi, i see you are creating war2 models, would you like to join our project?

This really isn't very good, the skin is low quality and blurry, the model is rediculously low poly to the point of looking aweful, the model is bland and lacks any sort of ornamentation or decoration, it is off scale and quite frankly, looks horrible and bears only a passing resemblance to the War 2 Great Hall.

sure. Ive been looking at the war 2 buildings and the human blacksmith looks the most challenging.

The reason the skin sucks is because there were no great ingame textures to use.

You should use more polies, mainly considering it will not use custom textures. 456 is lower than an unit, and this is a building, you could use some more details, and also, if the ingame textures don't directly help you, you could change the color of a texture, or use a non-orcish texture. That's the real game of using ingame textures, don't just see things that follow other buildings, use the textures to make them fit your model, not make your model fit the textures, And don't use just one or 2 textures, use as many as you need, even if they are twenty. And also, follow more the shape of the concept.

hm, yea... I went a little overboard on cutting polys. I should increase the sides on the door and add the decorations. I also need to add the build animation so that will add like 400 more polys.
