It's PRIME TIME! Based mainly on the "Transformers 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime" toy. With minor modifications because I had no actual access to said toy and there were no pictures depicting the transformation; so I got lost in the lower torso and had to make my own. Still much work to be done, but since the transformation is all working, I thought I'd say hello. Also, I'll need a real skinner at some point. ![]() |

I find it hard to put my finger on exactly, but i'm not really feeling it. Its so boxy and especially, square. It might look better if some of the shapes whern't exactly boxes, but slightly angled on one side and such. Ofcourse the skin has to do a lot for it, but right now it just looks a bit tooooo straight. The legs not connecting and the hollow torso is also awefully scary. |

Yeah, yeah, still lots of work to do. Besides, the original Prime is all boxy. Not to mention the polycount already being a shameful 745, and that's set to grow just with all the gap-filling I need to do. Can't gief, I haven't actually animated the transform, just either end of it to make sure everything's in tip top position. |

Lovely RDZ!!! When I was at the university, I did Optimus Prime in Solid Edge, I disarmed the toy, measure the parts and assembled it virtually in the program. Very nice result I must say. If I can find the file (it was more than 5 years ago), I'll post some screenshots so you can have one good idea about the proportions of the toy. |

Awesome, most of my reference pics just give general wide-angle shots of the whole lot; hence the divergence from the actual toy as I try to work out what the hell folds where. He'll never be exactly true to the original design at this kind of polycount, but any help getting him close is appreciated. :) |

Bad news, That file is lost :( Don't worry, I've just taken some pictures to the robot, so you can get the details and features. this toy is the Ultra Magnus version, but the shape and transformation is exactly the same as the original Optimus Prime toy. This toy is in my opinion the best transformer EVAR, because it looks very nice in both modes (in robot mode, it looks much better than in the first animated series). I hope it helps you a lot. Please, make me proud. |

Updates! (See first post.) I'll be looking for a skinner, but here's the (rather shoddy) UV map anyway. Ho yes, sitting at a reasonable 740 triangles (there is only one Optimus Prime on any map at any given time). |
