Morph Woes

This is driving me nuts.
I have two morph abilities based on robogoblin. Ive tested them in a dummy map and they work 100% OK. Normal form to alternate form no problem

But for some reason when I test the SAME 2 abilities on the same 2 units (I pasted the units/abilities from my actual map to the dummy map to test them) on my actual map, I get wierd behavior:

after casting the ability when the units in normal form, it'll do 1 of two things:
1.) if the normal form unit has a druid model it'll turn into a storm crow
2.) if its not, it'll just stay unchanged

either way, the units abilities dissapear, and it gains the abilities of the alernate unit, BUT THE NORMAL MORPH ABILITY (Normal form to alternate form) IS STILL THERE.

ive searched high and low for someone whos had the same problem but I found nothing. Anyone have any ideas? if you need me to post the map I can do it.

P.S. Just to anticipate some questions:
YES the normal unit has the morph ability (duh)
YES the alternate unit has a morph ability with the altnerate and normal unit fields inverted
YES the alternate unit has the right model

EDIT: It's basically the same problem this dude is having: http://www.thehelper.net/forums/show...ighlight=Morph

Well, what you think you did right you actualy did wrong:

Both versions of the unit should have the same ability. The game remembers that a unit is morphed so while it's in alternate form the game will display the "turn off" tooltip and icon of the same ability.

Druid and crow are both parts of the same model. The crow has the alternate animation tags so that the crow animations will always be used when the model is used for a unit that another unit morphs to. Unless you edit the models, non-alternate versions of models such as demon hunter, the two druids, gargoyle, crypt fiend, siege engines, can not be used for alternate forms of units.

Thanks. there's alot of bad info out there

and btw, the normal form is druid of the talon.

(Normal) Druid of the Talon Model -> (Alt) Bear Model

NOT

(Normal) Storm Crow -> (Whatever)

so if I understand what you said right about alternate forms models I shouldn't be having that problem..

One more question though..
Since I made this thread I've resorted to using chaos. it works 100% OK for me as I'm using a custom equip system I made where items don't actally give bonuses. Same goes with buffs; they're all based on tornado aura and the acutal effects of the buffs are triggered.

however, I may use tornado aura for its movement speed and/or attack speed effect in the future.

would chaos screw up a tornado aura buff (w/ a movement speed decrease) ? I.E if it was a .5 movement speed modifier would make it a .25 modifier on the morphed form?

Not true.

You can make a trigger that removes the "alternate" animation name from the unit, allowing it to stay in un-alternate form while in a morph. Blizzard themselves did this in Monolith.

no it shouldn't as far as the morphed unit haves also that aura :) if it was .5 before it will remain .5
