any tutorial on sword making in 3ds max?

ok so ill ask it directly

if i made my sword model, adjusted the pivot and added some skins, can i export it directly in mdx and ready to use? or do i have to edit the mdls before using?

is it the pivot point where the hands should be placed? or what?

Exporting from 3DSMax is a royal pain if you ask me. Some have success with it, but all my attempts have been failures. If you just want to make a sword, you could try modeling it in Max, then somehow getting it into Milkshape or Vertex Modifier to export it. Then you would need to skin it using LithUnwrap or something.

wow..that was long....

how about models with animations? do they edit it in max, open it in milkshape and skin it, just like what u said?

i though modelers, only use 3ds max for modeling, i have experience in modeling, but i dont know how to make it work in wc3
